NO RESPECT

Tim Duncan and McGrady came to the post-game interview room together and Duncan left in mock disgust when McGrady dissed the centers.

"This is more of a guard's game," said McGrady, who scored 36. "Myself and guys like Kobe and LeBron (James), Dwyane Wade, Allen Iverson. It's a guard show. It's hard for big men to get touches because we handle the ball 95 percent of the time.

"Every now and then, we'll throw the ball inside to the big guys. There's really no excitement throwing the ball to them down there."

With that, Duncan threw up his hands and walked out of the room, sparking laughter from McGrady and a throng of reporters.

Duncan scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

"Hey, Tim!" McGrady yelled as Duncan departed. "Your game is effective, but it is boring! Come on, man, it's an All-Star game. You want to see dunks."

Duncan didn't return to the room. And if Shaquille O'Neal had been around, he might've left too.

"Shaq tries to give you flashes every now and then, but he's rusty," McGrady said. "Tell him I said that."

So what's the problem? Duncan IS boring, and we all know that. He didn't call him a bad player or anything :? McGrady is just telling what everybody knows.

as much as i dont like TMac i would have to agree that The Big Fundamental is just that Fundamentally sound, probably more so than any other player in the league, but he is boring...

But there are centers who are exciting, like Shaq in his prime...and who didnt love watching Manute Bol when he was in the league? LOL!!

What the hell? It is quite obvious that, even if he did say that, he was just kidding around. I know it is true but he was obviously just having some fun.

he said it but aldrin is making it seem like the context in which t-mac made those comments were disrespectful -- but they were not; he was just joking around. go to nba.com, and watch the interview and go see for yourself if he truly meant to insult duncan. get your head out of your ass aldrin.

The fact Duncan left in "mock disgust" suggests they were kidding around. If he'd been "visibly angry" then maybe things would be a bit more serious.

Did anyone see this live?

Well I did, and Tim left smiling, and it was a big joke, none of it was taken seriously...
This really is a good example of how things get twisted through the media.

I watched the interview the other day... it was all fun and jokes! If T-mac wanted to say it seriously, he'd probably say it all differently.

Something like, "Tim, you are such a boring basketball player. Get out of here, you don't fit in you freak!,' or soemthing.

Um, why does a little joke make front page news? Is it the media? Or is it just aldrin?

Duncan went to college for four years and graduated. Somehow, I think that aldrin doesn't quite fit that.
