LeBron Destroys the Spurs (not just in the 4th)

Postby BIG GREEN on Tue Feb 14, 2006 12:48 pm

Yea..this thread has the right name. LeBron showed the spurs and the league tonight that dwayde is not the only new superstar worth talking about by scoring 44 points to lead the Cavaliers to victory. (26 in the second half). Take that and stuff it bron skeptics..

Final score : Cavaliers 101 - Spurs 87

Great game by LeBron. But I don't think the pro-Wade sentiment is necessarily anti-LeBron.

I dont think so either..but many say that Wade is a better player...especially since he toasted Detroit lastnight. Tonight was bron's night.

Too happy to mourn at the moment. (No, not because it's valentine's day, but because our thesis is looking good so far and we're about to be done) Wish I could've seen the game, just to see how well Lebron matched up to my Spurs. The deficit is quite huge too

who covered Lebron most of the time? if it was Bowen then hats off to him. I have supreme respect for defensive minded Bowen and if Lebron had such a outing agaisnt him says even more.

and one night like this doesn't put him back on top. I think more emphasis will be put on the Miami win since they hadn't beat an elite team all year and it did come against the Pistons

But yeh- i caught the 2nd half of the game. He dominated the 3rd quarter. I was pretty surprised the Cavs added some points to their lead when James on the bench.

ok? I'm a very very big fan of the Spurs. It is very natural for a fan to say 'we' when talking about their favorite team. I'm not from Texas...so what?? What does that have to do with anything?

Dwayne's good but not at Lebron's level.

a loss is a loss. Seems little like a big loss to me considering their winning streak was smashed..and the margin of victory...not to mention cavs are considered a second rate team.

"Back on top"? I personally think lebron has always been a better player. I don't seem to remember the cavaliers having much luck against elite teams either. As far i know...this is only the second elite team they've beaten this season...it's plain and simply an awsome victory for a second rate team like the cavs. Everyone puts miami above the cavs ...so this is more impressive. They dont have a whole bunch of superstars/all-stars like miami.

I dont know about the Cavs being considered a second rate team. At the beginning of the year everyone was saying this is the Cavs year to contend in the east and they were gonna be a top 3 seed in the playoffs. People were expecting big things out of them. At least they are currently the number 4 (I think) seed albeit an unimpressive one.

depends what you consider elite. the Cavs have gotten W's against:
Miami, Detroit, Phoenix, and now SA
IMO the lebron vs wade debate is close with neither decidedly better then the other

Personally I think the Miami win was bigger since Miami was considered by many media members to be a title contender yet with no big wins/Detroit is their main rival in the East. But hey, it's all subjective. it's always a big win if you can defeat the Spurs

Last i checked, there are only 2 stars on Miami ;)

With the cavs having beat most of the top teams in the nba atleast once....i wonder why they are still so looked down upon.

I love LeBron, and not to diminish his performance, BUT...

- Spurs just played back to back on the road
- Last game was a come from behind win against Indiana
- Duncan has been sick with the flu and had to run to the locker room 4 times during that game
- last year Spurs were only 50/50ish on the road anyway

I guess i'm just saying i'm not surprised, the Spurs are far from invincible.
