Will the Pistons win 70?

Sun Jan 01, 2006 6:42 am

.. looks like they're one loss closer to 13... :o

Anyone think they have a chance? I doubt it... they will have to be completely injury free to have a chance..

Sun Jan 01, 2006 7:08 am

I think they will. Right now, they are playing great..

Sun Jan 01, 2006 7:09 am

i think they'll probalby drop like 3 games shy

Sun Jan 01, 2006 7:11 am

Thay already lost one more to teh Cavs...

Let's just say that their chances of winning 70 are the same chances Phoenix had at this point of the season, in 2004. And look how that turned out...

Sun Jan 01, 2006 8:48 am

They won't. Nothing against them, they are a great team but I just don't see them being consistent all the way through the season.

Sun Jan 01, 2006 8:52 am

theyll probably win more than 50-60 no doubr

Sun Jan 01, 2006 9:01 am

i hope they won't.

Sun Jan 01, 2006 9:34 am

a big injury will put the pistons down

Sun Jan 01, 2006 10:53 am

if either rasheed or billups goes down they're pretty much fucked. i think hamilton and big ben are replaceable but not the other two. i can't really put a finger on why i chose rasheed, but he seems mightily important.

Sun Jan 01, 2006 10:55 am

I think they will go 68-14. Two games shy

Happy 300th post

Few records are "unbeatable" and they're in the running to do it but I don't think it'll happen. As D-Weaver said, the Suns were in a similar position last year but ultimately couldn't get it done. I say Detroit will win 65 or perhaps a couple more, but fall just short of the 70 win mark.

Sun Jan 01, 2006 12:00 pm

I agree everyone that said they'd reach in the 60s. I think they'll reach the mid-to-late 60s. I think they're a really good team, but'll probably lose a few more games here and there than the Bulls team that won 72 did.

Sun Jan 01, 2006 4:13 pm

the only way you win 72 games is when you have a guy name michael jordan(in his prime) on your team and none of the teams have a superstar of that caliber and depth on their teams... maybe one day the cavs with lebron can challenge it but 72 wins is a pretty tough feat.... also winning 72 games in the regular season means nothing if you lose in the playoffs... then you go down as one of the most disappointing teams of all time

Sun Jan 01, 2006 6:23 pm

65 wins, & a championship.

Sun Jan 01, 2006 8:11 pm

Barring any injuries, I'm going to bet my lunch money and say that they will reach 70 wins. Mark my words.

Be careful what you guarantee, lest you join the ranks of the "Quote me in June" trio (Wizards in 2003, Lakers in 2003 and 2004) and "KG will be traded". ;)

Sun Jan 01, 2006 8:40 pm

Not impossible... Maybe very very close, but I still hope they'll lose to Spurs again.

Sun Jan 01, 2006 8:45 pm

not happening twice in a row :P

Sun Jan 01, 2006 10:20 pm

no way......

Sun Jan 01, 2006 10:55 pm

I hope it'll happen. It's about time that someone showed the other what its all about. Despite the fact that I don't like the team.

Sun Jan 01, 2006 11:37 pm

60> is achievable i think...70..kinda imposibble for em

Mon Jan 02, 2006 12:42 am

not happening twice in a row

Nah they will lose to Phoenix :P

Mon Jan 02, 2006 2:09 am

once, and then Billups will light Nash up as usual and we'll win 4 straight TRUTH!

I'm just testing my huju magic of prediction for the upcoming World Cup. :headbang:
If I'm right with the Detroit prediction, then I'll make risky bets. If I'm wrong, I'll still bet, but a little more careful.

I say around 64-66.
