Yay! Jumping on the bandwagon is so fun!
Wed Oct 05, 2005 5:22 pm
Been a Rockets fan since I was like 6/7 years old (well yeah I kinda jumped on their 1995 championship team, but I was young so...) last year we had a solid team. However know with the transactions we've made and the improvement of Yao (he'll have his best year yet) we are really a top 3 Western team.

Yup
And Stro is another of my favourites, so the Rockets basically picked up my two favourite players
Wed Oct 05, 2005 9:09 pm
oh yea, skip your feelin good right now lol
I like the rockets, can't say theyre my favorite team but theyre up there. I hope they do well this season
Wed Oct 05, 2005 9:37 pm
I doubt Yao will play well, averages wise... he's only gonna play 30 mpg, mark my words! But by playoffs, I expect him to explode!
Wed Oct 05, 2005 9:48 pm
The Rockets definitely have improved alot during the off season and lets hope this new Rockets team can help T-MAC to get pass in the first round of the playoffs because he was not able to do that when he was playing with the Magic and also last season.
Wed Oct 05, 2005 10:53 pm
They certainly have added athleticism and depth to their team. They'll be a top 4 team no doubt.
I'm thinking they are the most likely team to beat SAS out West.
Wed Oct 05, 2005 11:33 pm
Right now its all about hype. Only thing that i admire is that the rockets surrounded Yao and Mac with players that are not superstars. They didn't revamp the team vastly, they just added some pieces. To Coolmac, please dont overrate the rockets, you might jinx them again. Just be cool and let the rockets be the underdog.

I'm a big fan of what Houston did this offseason. They are the only team in the West that can give San Antonio a run for their money. I think Stro will be huge there. He made a great decision to go to Houston, and shows that he really does care about winning more then his attitude. I don't like the Rafer Alston trade, but I still think they are number 2 in the West right now.

rockets had an amazing off season, i predict 49-51 wins this year, and a second, maybe even third round appereance
Thu Oct 06, 2005 2:45 am
Houston should get 55 wins easy.

I don't know about that...
I would say a 51 win season is in store. SAS will win 58-60, and then there will be a dropoff.
Thu Oct 06, 2005 1:26 pm
okay i wont jinx the team, since i'll be gone from the NLSC forever. hehehe anyways i love the rockets. God bless them and all their fans. good luck next season guys
Thu Oct 06, 2005 1:49 pm
Hopefully Yao can have a 20 - 10 season. He should be better by now.

some
news for rocket fans..
The Rockets moved to trim their roster on Monday by getting close to an agreement in which point guard Charlie Ward would become an assistant coach and a buyout that would let them release forward Vin Baker.
"We're in the process of working out a deal where (Ward) can become a coach, and we're also working on a buyout for Vin," Rockets general manager Carroll Dawson said. Though those deals are not complete, the team was told of the changes.
In other expected roster moves, the Rockets signed guard/forward Dion Glover, forward Chuck Hayes and guard Keith Langford, each to non-guaranteed contracts.

Ye I knew Vin Baker or Charlie Ward would been cut by now. Good move. Baker has a pretty big contract.

Great team.
There will be a new 'Fantastic Four' in NBA.
Yao, Swift, T-Mac and Rafer, wow.

Me too. They've made some moves that should only improve the team while taking very little risks; only one move that you could possibly question (James for Alston) and even then they have alternatives so they won't be doomed if it doesn't work out as well as planned.

55 WINS EASY... wow.. i watched their preseason game.. Tmac is comfortable now.. man.. Tmac will explode this year. last year he had trouble the first 2 months and avged like 22 ppg.. he is going for an amazing year.. and Yao has been scoring like 20 points in low 20 mins.. he has vastly improved on his offence.. but defence still needs work
Haven't seen Stro play.. .Howard is being a great rebounder lately.. same with Lonny Baxtor.. he has gotten SOO much fitter since his raptor days.
i predict a 55+ win season for rockets
