oh please, they have not proven anything yet.

But yeah this would probably be Paytons best option if he wants a ring. Indiana (not sure if he fits in) would be anther team to consider.

The article only mentioned that the Heat expressed interest in signing Payton. It didn't say Payton have interest to play with the Heat. Still, Payton will retire soon so if he wants to win his first NBA title, he can give it a shot by joining the Heat. Though, the Heat should re-sign Jones instead as their first priority.

Yes sir. I'm just worried about how their team chemistry is going to shape up during the NBA season and even pre-season.

let em go to the heat I wanna see how the chemistry works out. I think they then just hot to much good players and someone on that team is going to be pretty pissed about not getting enough minutes. and I think that would be either payton or Walker then.

Payton was always a jinx especially to Shaq..L.A almost won 4 straight..I like the point guards right now of the Heat (J-Will & D-Wade)

Wouldn't be a bad signing, actually...though Damon Jones is the safer bet as far as familiarity and age. Payton may not have the same explosiveness but he's still a crafty player and he's healthy enough to be a solid contributor in a reduced role. I know it's become customary to write off older players as soon as they slip from All-NBA status but some are still able to contribute in lesser roles.

GP doesnt have a 3pt shot and that's why he wouldn't fit in with shaq. I think he should go back to LA and fight with phil and kobe.

Dwayne Wade isn't a good 3 pt shooter either and he played excellent with shaq.

but wade can drive to the basket, he has explosiviness, GP doesn't, i just don't want to see him with the heat now... i'd prefer re-signing DJ.

Yeah thats correct..Good post by boconcio.I think Miami is thinking for the playoffs. They knew GP will help them especially in crunch time cause they know veteran players like him will not do some unforced errors or other rookie mistakes.I remember the Lakers back in 2000 i think, the game in the finals where they put Ron Harper instead of D-fish for the closing minutes of the game just to make sure the game will be organize.Same way with the Heat.

We already have 4 point guards, 2 of which are far better then GP.

Yeah, they'll be "stacked" with mediocre players except Shaq and Wade.

Now you know they aren't going to win a championship since GP was added and any team he is on never wins a championship.

But let's be serious, the team will be stacked, but I wouldn't still be impressed. Just imagine the chemistry of this team? I stil wouldn't see them winning a championship. Last year I said the Heat weren't going to win the championship and they didn't, year before last I said the Lakers weren't going to win and they didn't so this year I'm saying the Heat are going to win.

I rather them win than the Spurs.

Heat games were a helluva lot more exciting than Spurs games last year.
