Best team so far???

Thu Aug 04, 2005 10:47 am

Im just wondering what other people think so far..I think Miami got some nice players but thats it..Lakers have about stayed the same just add Phil Jackson to the mix...Washington got some good players but also lost some of their key players too..

Thu Aug 04, 2005 12:55 pm

Memphis? Didn't they just lose a lot of guys and get Eddie Jones?

I'd have to go with Miami as of right now...

Thu Aug 04, 2005 12:57 pm

I'm going with Maimi. God, I love missppellt words.

Thu Aug 04, 2005 12:59 pm

Where is Boston?! We got Veal and Borchard!

I'm not bitter.

Thu Aug 04, 2005 1:21 pm

Id Have To With Miami.Miami Lost its Captian to Memphis. But in return get three
solid players Walker,Willams,And Posey. (Y)

Thu Aug 04, 2005 2:16 pm

I say the Heat. Solid team with lots of weapons. Good big man, good guards, good forwards. Good sixth man (Posey). Good rosters so far. (Y)

Thu Aug 04, 2005 3:19 pm

Miami definetely, too many weapons now :x

Thu Aug 04, 2005 3:30 pm

i think milwaukee's had the best offseason so far. especially if tj ford comes back effective and they are still able to retain pachulia (Y)

resign redd, pachulia, gadzu
sign simmmons
draft bogut

New Jersey... Shareef was all they were looking for and they got him... They don't need anyone else.

Miami got themselves lots of problems with the big deal. Walker and Williams are known for expressing their unhappiness if things don't go as they have planned it. So if the start of the season is rough, it won't get any easier... Then again, everyone wants to play with Shaq, so maybe he can pull it all together. But I see the chemistry of the team dismantling as they shaft the supporting cast from last season up the *ss this summer. They were due a lot more credit then they were given.

Thu Aug 04, 2005 5:33 pm

Cleveland definitely!
Yeah Miami did get alot of talented players but they got Walker who wont fit at all in Miami, he takes too many shots and not good ones either. J Wil is kinda the same but still not as good a fit as Damon Jones.

Cavs got Hughes who will light it up with Lebron getting 10 assists a game. And Donyell will surely a lot of 3's. Depends what they do with their Point Guard problem. If we get D Jones.......dont be surprised to see us go far into the playoffs

Thu Aug 04, 2005 6:47 pm

On paper, Miami has gotten furthest. But in terms of which team should play a lot betetr than last season I'd have to go with Cleveland.

Thu Aug 04, 2005 6:51 pm

Miami on first thought, perhaps LA too.

Thu Aug 04, 2005 7:52 pm

LA C OR L?

Becoz, thats a first.....if they get DA - Derick Anderson - Yeh maybe but I dont think so....
Kwame should do OK in LA though

Thu Aug 04, 2005 9:52 pm

I'll say Milwaukee. Miami's made some fine "on paper" deals but I don't think they were the right ones so I can't say they've had the best offseason so far.

Thu Aug 04, 2005 9:57 pm

ill say new jersey because
1. milwaukee will be regretting handing out a shitload of money to at best allstars
2. miami will have some chemistry problems (there's only one ball guys...)
3. cleveland... can't really argue about their offseason only i still think larry hughes isn't worth a ridiculous 13mil/yr in the future they will be regretting that decision i think

so that leaves new jersey who has a improving kristic, the addition of abdul-rahim, uncle cliffy, antoine wright, and jeff mciniss... add a couple more solid players and you have a better team than the 2003 nets

Thu Aug 04, 2005 10:22 pm

New Jersey is already better than before Kenyon Martin left... They've got Carter and Shareef instead of Martin and they more than make up for the Martin loss... And besides the bench is much better than it was back then. They basically had no bench.

Now they have McInnis coming off the bench and Clifford Robinson's got a few games left in the tank... They are better than 2003 Nets.

Thu Aug 04, 2005 11:53 pm

You have got to be kidding me!!

Where are my guys in these stupid ass polls?

We add the best player in Europe, get our DPOY back, and draft someone who was a top 5-10 player in the draft but we still get beaten out by Washington, who if anything, got a WHOLE lot worse.

Fri Aug 05, 2005 12:51 am

A team of champions doesn't make a champion team.

Fri Aug 05, 2005 5:52 am

Detroit hasn't really added any big name players... But if it ain't broken, don't fix it... Detroit has a very solid team build for defense and they have played in the two last NBA title rounds, so there really is no need to add any big names...

Detroit is still one of the top teams in the league and this was probably more for the more active teams during the free agency period...

Indiana has lost Reggie Miller and finding a shooter of that caliber will take years to find. And it remains to be seen how will Jasikevicius take on the NBA game... If he can find his spot on the team, it will indeed be stronger, but especially you american pundits seem to down play his skills. Jasikevicius has some serious skills and look for him to start at the point over Tinsley... He just is that good...

Seriously who gives a fuck about LA C?

Naw mean,I meant La La Land. Kind of like the idea of having a #1 draft pick on the roster.

Fri Aug 05, 2005 8:51 am

Yes I'm a homer, but I'm not going to say Memphis because I know they didn't make the best moves, but they did get rid of the cancers on the team. I'm going to have to probably go with the Bucks or maybe Nets with the signing of Rahim and McInnis. I just don't think the Heat thing will work out.

Fri Aug 05, 2005 9:21 am

Nets and Bucks.

Fri Aug 05, 2005 9:45 am

Those are some weird choices.

No Spurs?

And why are the clips & wizards there?

I would have to agree that these two teams made some of the biggest improvements in the offseason, although as the Thread Title would suggest, I don't think either of these are the best teams.
