Cuttino and Udonis choose their respective paths...

Mobley probably goes to the Clips:

and Haslem most likely stays in Heat:

Looks like Sterling decided to put his hand in the pocket for a change...

Mobley going to the Clippers is great news for the Clippers. Most likely Maggete to be SF and Mobley being SG.

Haslem staying in Heat with less money is showing he wants a ring

Wed Jul 13, 2005 9:45 pm

kaman, brand, maggette, cat, livingston....and no depth....they should give Penney a call :D

good move by Nuggets to keep Nene....he's a keeper....

Wed Jul 13, 2005 9:45 pm

Too bad. I really wanted Haslem to sign with Cavs. But he did a really classy move (Y). I wish there would be more players like him.

Wed Jul 13, 2005 9:47 pm

it makes perfect sense for Haslem....especially with a guy named Shaq making him look good for the next 4 or 5 years....the next Horace Grant perhaps? :|

Wed Jul 13, 2005 9:50 pm

Why can't he be the next (and only) Udonis Haslem instead of someone else :?

Wed Jul 13, 2005 9:53 pm

Horace Grant was an awesome defender. Udonis Hasleem is comparible to the old, 2001 version of grant.

Looks like Sterling decided to put his hand in the pocket for a change...

Actually.. Sterling has made strides to make the clippers respectable. He matched Elton Brand and Maggettes offer sheets (Which were quite sizable) and made a trade to bring in kerry kittles who earns a fair bit. This is mobleys 4 team in a year.

Well, he has to at least keep his main guy(s)... If he did not, even the passive Clips' fans would lynch him.

EDIT: The Clips are also rumored to be interested in Reef:

http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi ... dur_rahim/

I don't think that'll go through. Reef wants to sign for a winning team and the Clips already have Brand at PF.

Shareef, mate, please don't go to the Clippers.... lol.

I haven't heard anything about what the Trailblazers are going to do about Shareef, most likely get rid of him.... :(

thats true haslem probably wants to stay in his hometown too

This is so great that Mobley is going the Clips. His scoring will veto the loss of Simmons.

Finally a good move.

This has been the Clippers biggets problem for a while, they have a playoff potential team, but instead of getting the neccesary role players, and veterans, Elgin goes and get's some NBDL or CBA players who don't help much.

If the Clippers can go out and get some solid role player/veteran depth, they can definately make the post season.

The Clippers actually used to be in the Top 5-10 in salary in the league during the early 90's, but they kinda slowed down a little. Lately though they've been spending, they re-signed Brand and Maggette, and went after Arenas and Kobe, though they didn't get them. They're even building a new $25 million practice facility, so Sterling is going back to his spending days.

Classy move by Haslem. Rarely you see players turn down $10M to stick it out with the team that put them in the spotlight.

He needs somebody to wash his clothes and cook him dinner and to wake him up for game day

I just read we are going hard after Shareef. That would be very nice.

If you were in Reef's shoes, why on earth would you sign for another underachieving team that already has a star at the position you primarily play???

Thu Jul 14, 2005 10:16 am

sheef reportedly turned down a big offer from the bucks, who are by all accounts looking to make waves in the post season.. he's been in negotiations with the nets for the past week looking to do a sign & trade for involving the nets trade exception, but the nets and portland can't agree on the fine details.. all hell will break loose in terms of the free agent hunt if a 48 or 49 mil salary cap is announced

Thu Jul 14, 2005 12:16 pm

i think shareef going to the Bucks was a good idea, i don't know why he turned it down. The nets has as much chance of going to the play off as the bucks, in a good way. But going back to the topic, good move by Mobley and Haslem. They both will have a big role on their teams.

Thu Jul 14, 2005 9:25 pm

Nice move by Haslem showing loyalty to the Heat, not to mention good news for the team as well. Mobley's a good signing for the Clippers, though he doesn't replace the defense of Simmons. Mind you, the Clippers have had lineups that have looked pretty good on paper before and haven't come close to fulfilling expectations.

Yep, like:

PG- Andre Miller
SG- Corey Maggette
SF-Lamar Odom
PF- Elton Brand

then they had Miles and Q-Rich off the bench

Fri Jul 15, 2005 10:27 pm

Not to mention Olowokandi, who at that time still looked like he might have a good future. Well, a future as a solid NBA centre at least.

Fri Jul 15, 2005 10:48 pm

Dont like Cats that much but he does help our weakness of 3-ball shooting but hes undersized and I question his attitude, hes made a big speech on how he likes the Clips but I get the feeling its the money thats talking.

I dunno getting Cats could mean we may try for Pierce, we could use PP on our team as much as I enjoy seeing Corey hes not on the same level as The Truth is but that could have side affects on Elton's happiness.

Anyway I think we have a shot at the playoffs next season if everything works out and Shaun doesnt break apart again, he stays for 75 games and we'll make the playoffs of course we still need to sign another guard(point and a sg/sf) since Kittles isnt very reliable right now.

@ least we didnt go get Kwame, the Lakers are gonna regret that.
