Interesting Boston Rumors

From LA Times:

"Ainge is expected to offer Walker, a free agent, something like $7 million a year and doesn't care if he leaves. However, starting a youth movement with no immediate title prospects, insiders say the organization is also open to what was once unthinkable — trading Pierce…"

That's a fair offer, though considering how well the Celtics played after bringing Walker back into the fold I think Ainge should be interested in bringing him back at a reasonable price. Trading Pierce doesn't sound like a great idea, but I suppose it depends who they'd get in return.

If they can get a few players who'll fit in with this youth movement thing I think it'd be worth it. I can't really think of many teams who'd want to trade their young stars, unless Dallas would give up a combo consisting of Howard/Daniels/Podkolzine/Harris.

Yeah send Paul Pierce to LA for Odom, D George and picks.

That would put the Lakers back to the playoff at least :)

Boston needs a scorer in return...not role players.

Kobe would be hogging the ball, and Pierce would come over and shove him. Paul would then appear at a press conference the next day with a bandage/ cast thing for his chin.

Pierce is from LA and grew up a Laker fan. However if The Lakers trade Odom for Pierce and don't get one of Bostons young bigs and Mike James in the deal it will prove that Mitch Kupcake is on crack.

Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't ask for anything more if I traded Pierce for Odom. Imo, Pierce > Odom.

In that LA Times article it said a scenario would be: Pierce and Mark Blount to LA Clippers for Corey Maggette and Chris Wilcox. Sounds like an even deal either way to me.

A Corey Maggette and Wilcox for Pierce trade would be great, this is what many Clippers fans have been hoping for. Maggette is not a SG, he's a SF, and the Clippers need outside shooting, a play who's a more capable ball handler at the 2 [though Pierce isn't that great], and a clutch scorer. These are all things Pierce can provide, and he's much more fit for the team than Maggette.

badass dealio. i agree 100%. maggette is a SF trying too much as a SG. it'd be a perfect deal. resigned bobby simmons, and you're lineup is deadly (albeit the Center)

livingston, pierce, simmons, brand, kaman/draftee possibly

DEADLY!!

Hmm I like the Clipper trade but don't see why boston wants Wilcox. They already have lots of 6-10 bangers.

On an unrelated note there's talk of a Dirk+Stackhouse+Deven Harris+others and picks for KG+Cassel+Spreewell+Hassell trade in the works. Hmm

Lol that maggette+wilcox trade was also offered for Ray Allen.

I'm not sure how much Boston improves w/ that trade...Pierce isn't exactly old, and i think they want Al to grow into that PF position...that's why Walker is expendable.

Livingston looks like a great talent, but Boston has PGs already.

I'm not sure what Boston wants ?? A Center?

It might not make common sense to get Pierce for young stars, but there's always Portland. Always willing to take on a big contract and trade away Jermaine O'Neal.

Horrible for Dallas. The gap between Dirk and KG isn't THAT big... not big enough to warrant Dallas taking on Spree and Cassalien. Even if they are FA's and don't re-sign, essentially the trade is Dirk, Harris (promising PG in a great situation at Dallas), Stackhouse (genuine 6th man of the year candidate) for KG and Hassell. Plus the fact that it'd include other players AND picks from Dallas, I don't like it at all.

I am a Laker fan, Dirk just happens to be one of my favourite players and I really think that's a bullshit deal for Dallas.

I'm sure Dallas can do better than get two cancer players in Spree and Cassell, so I really don't think this trade will go through at all.

It's a 100% false rumor. Some retard from the Chicago Tribune suggested it, it has 0 facts to it.

Also, if the Wolves did that trade they would be worse next year than they were this year. Garnett does more for the Wolves than any player in the league, by far. Not to mention you'd have to start Troy Hudson or Devin Harris at PG...
