Name your Internation All Time Dream Team

Postby beau_boy04 on Thu May 12, 2005 4:30 pm

We all know the team assembled in 1992 a.k.a Dream Team was the best team ever assembled. Now I need your help assembling the best International All Time Dream Team, meaning the best foreign players (in their prime) and put them on a team.

Starting 5:

C
PF
SF
SG
PG

Bench:

Thank you.
-----------------

All I know Dirk Nowitzi is one of the best international player if he keeps up this pace, Yao Ming might be up there too if he keeps improving. I don't know of any C who was/is better than him other than Sabonis.

DOWN WITH USA!

I don't know of any C who was/is better than him other than Sabonis.

Rik Smits? :P

C - Arvydas Sabonis
PF - Dirk Nowitzki
SF - Peja Stojakovic
SG - Manu Ginobili
PG - Steve Nash

Yao Ming
Pau Gasol
Toni Kukoc
Andrei Kirilenko
Tony Parker
Vlade Divac
Dikembe Mutombo

Drazen Petrovic - respect! (Y)
Rik Smits

That's all i could think of for now, based on who played in the NBA.

Olajuwon and Ewing got naturalized and played for the US. Same with Duncan. I'm not sure with Mutombo though that's why he's on my list.

Petrovic? The one who past away during a car crash in 92 or before?

GOAL?

Postby shadowgrin on Thu May 12, 2005 6:32 pm

I heard Petrovic was supposed to be really good

Yep, the closest player I could compare him to is Manu Ginobili but Petrovic is more of a shooter than Manu but Manu could jump higher! :D
When Petrovic is hot, he can scorch it!

Yah, the one who played for the Nets.
Ilgauskus

pffft..bah! :)
Andrew Gaze

He is worthy! Spent some time in the IR then moved to the bench. Played quality minutes off the bench but by the time his game was peaking in the NBA, he died.

Do you mean all competitions or just Olympics? I'll do Olympics...

C: Arvydas Sabonis (Lithuania)
PF: Dejan Bodiroga (Serbia & Montenegro)
SF: Oscar Schmidt (Brazil)
SG: Andrew Gaze (Australia)
PG: Sarunas Jasikevicius (Lithuania)

That's just my list anyways.

I consider Ewing American since he played for the Dream Team.
Also Petrovic only was a bench player in the beginning of his career, he definately was a starter in the last couple seasons.

Chris Jackson --> Mahmoud Adbul-Rauf
he became an islam, that's when he changed names.
Same with Olivier St. Jean --> Tariq Adbul Wahad

How'd we go from basketball players to boxers?

Lew Alcindor to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
