KG decks Rickert...

"At an informal workout the other day at Target Center, after Timberwolves rookie Rick Rickert made a nifty move to slip past his boyhood idol, Kevin Garnett of the Wolves, to score a basket, Garnett responded, without warning, by punching Rickert in the jaw. A cut required seven stitches to close, and Rickert also suffered a chipped tooth. The astonished 6-10 Rickert didn't retaliate against the 7-foot NBA most valuable player, who also had unkind words for the former Gophers player. Apparently, the rookie wasn't supposed to score on the MVP. Rickert received his stitches at University of Minnesota Hospital. Because the incident involved the Wolves' franchise player, the incident seemingly will make it even more difficult for Rickert to make the Wolves' final roster."

saying all respect is gone is a little harsh. I'm almost positive there was more to the story. Maybe Rickert and KG were going back and forth or what not. KG is normally nice to rookies and stuff. KG only hits if provoked.

They also said things like this happen in practices all the time in NBA but none of them get reported. This wasn't an offical practice though.

Rickert set a mean a$$ back pick on kg. kev told him not to set those type of picks then rickert came down the court and scored and started talking **** with kris humphris (who also got thrown out the gym by kev a few years ago) kg didnt respond he just put his head down and started pointing to his brain tryin to calm himself down while rickert was laughing.A couple of plays later rickert calls a phatom foul and kev didnt like that and they exchanged words (cussing), but kg gave in to my suprise and rickert got the ball. then the next play rickert hits kg in the back with another pick and as they went down court told kris humphris (i got him,i got him) and that put kg over the top he ran up on rickert and mushed him in his face then str8 up punched him he his jaw everyone grabbed kg while rickert was bend over holding his jaw.

I was playin in the informal scrimmage/practice a Nortwest the other day with KG Rickert Chris Carr, hassell and a couple other college and H.S. guys. This is how i saw it happen, Rickert kept elbowing Kg everytime kg was doin some sort of low post move, and when rickert would make a move on offense rickert always had his elbows out. After awhile Kg told rickert to watch his elbows, rickert did it again next time down the court kg slapped him than rickert said somethin to him which i didnt catch and than all of a sudden kg punched him right in the jaw. Rickert was just beenin a lil b***h, and i know if i was the MVP i wouldnt let rickert keep throwin elbows at me durin an informal scrimmage.

If this is true then KG's actions are understandable.

KG was about to fight back (peeler). I remember watching it in slow mo, when Peeler hit him he put his dukes up but then the ref came and pointed off the court.

you can see him hopping up and down like he is ready to swing then he gets smart and realizes its game 6 in the WCSF and the series will be tied.
