t-mac on the trading block

Postby Amphatoast on Thu Apr 15, 2004 12:12 pm

Magicare willing to trade McGrady

Very interesting. So many superstars names have been flying around the trading rumor for this summer and now Tracy McGrady joins that group. It would be funny if there was a T-mac for Kobe trade and then we get to see Kobe have his own team and get a better judgement of who is better since they just trading teams :P

A Kobe for T-Mac trade is a pretty fair deal, though it remains to be seen whether Kobe could succeed as the lone superstar, and whether T-Mac could accept being second to Shaq. As far as talent goes, it's one of the fairest straight-up trade scenarios in the NBA at the moment.

It seems as though Iverson will remain a Sixer, but I thought I'd look into the scenario anyway, using RealGM's trade checker.

Iverson for McGrady straight-up will work under the cap, though I assume both teams would probably want to exchange a few other players in the deal too.

whered you hear that from? i think if he doesnt already then he will want to stay in orlando once he thinks it through more, that decision'll be furthered if orlando makes some good moves in the offseason.

Mind you, Orlando's moves this past offseason weren't too shabby. The absence of Grant Hill and Pat Garrity doesn't help, but on paper they aren't as bad as their record would have you believe.

maybe he was just thinking out loud in the moment again  he's stupid like shaq that way :D anyway, yup, andrews right, i think once he thinks it over he'll remember that garritys coming back, hill might be coming back, and okafur is probably coming in -- so i'm hoping for a vast improvement next year, tmac should take the cue from kg and wait it out.

T-mac said that either the Maic improve the team or he's leaving....

Anyone know if a Francis for Iverson trade is doable?

i think its a different situation now that he's older and proved he's a good player. before, he wasnt given that oppurtunity and wasnt foreseeably going to be given it with vince-mania -- how was he to know that vince would suffer through injury and he mightve been given the same oppurtunity then in toronto. lets put it this way, if malone or payton hadnt already proven themselves great players they might not've joined la, but they fed their pride and only had one goal left. im not saying tmacs comparable to malone or payton, but that he's already proven himself personally, i think he's looking for something more now.

that said, i dont think he should or will move to la even though shaq and he would probably be more buddy-buddy considering tmac seems more personable and easy going on a social level than kobe.

If t-mac goes to LA, the comparison of him and kobe lives on. In LA he would have a lot of pressure to deliver. Pressures like winning 3 rings, buzzer beaters night in night out, this would take a toll on him. People in LA has a lot of expectations on him if hes the one to replace god-like-r*** kobe. If i were him why not join KG wherein both of them haven't won a ring.

Who do they want?

Who do you want for T-Mac?

Forget Shaq, Yao, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Jermaine O'Neal. Nobody with any sense trades a big for a small. But after those five superstar giants, it's open season on everybody else in the league.

No matter, let the fantasies begin:

T-Mac to L.A. Lakers for Kobe Bryant: Yes. Kobe re-signs with Lakers, who ship him to O-Town. (Providing he's a free man).

T-Mac to Philly for Allen Iverson: No. A.I. is a problem child -- and no longer a child at 28.

T-Mac to Houston for Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley. Nah. He's Stevie Head Case.

T-Mac to Phoenix for Amare Stoudemire and three ball boys. You bet.

T-Mac to Indiana for Ron Artest and Al Harrington. We wish.

T-Mac to the N.Y. Knicks for Stephon Marbury and Kurt Thomas. Sure.

T-Mac to Denver for Andre Miller and Marcus Camby. Not sexy, but there's your point guard and big man.

T-Mac to L.A. Clippers for Elton Brand and Corey Maggette. Yes. Clips need marquee man in Lakertown.

T-Mac to New Orleans for Baron Davis. Yes. The Crescent City is in dire need of a star.

T-Mac to the New York Yankees. You don't think George Steinbrenner would want in on this?

T-Mac to San Antonio for Rasho Nesterovic and Bruce Bowen. Beggars can't be choosers.

T-Mac to Toronto for cousin Vince Carter. Well, it would be a way to get back at T-Mac for wanting out.

T-Mac to Washington for Gilbert Arenas and Kwame Brown. Ugh. Only if forced.

T-Mac to Portland for Zach Randolph. OK -- if they throw in Theo Ratliff.

T-Mac to the Detroit Red Wings for Steve Yzerman. John Weisbrod is calling the shots on goal, remember.

TMAC to the Hawks for the entire team, plus 50% ownership to the Magic of the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks would then be forced to but cheap free agents to build around TMAc, which will still lead them to the playoffs.

Magic then go on to win the championship with Terry & Jackson the only Hawks players needed at the end of the season.

Oh and maybe Bobby Sura,..

Sound fair??i think :D

he felt he can lead his own team to a championship and don't need anyone else. Unfortantely, it hasn't worked out that way.

what T-Mac needs is dudes that can play ball. Juwan Howard turned out to be a bust 90% of the time, Lue is undersized and not a starter. Magic need some good 3 point shooters to punish opponents when they triple team T-Mac, let's face it, theres no team out there scared of the Magic frontline and their not gonna dbl the rubbish they have. Magic should also draft some dudes that have college experience

Dont forget that McGrady tought that Grant Hill would be healthy and a Superstar player for the Magic, it wasnt planned for him to lead a team, I think if Hill would stay healthy back then, then he would be the 1st option in the offense instead of McGrady as he is not.
