Orlando's playoff chances not yet over........

Thu Nov 20, 2003 9:38 pm

Could Orlando still make the playoffs. I know it's tough to comeback from a 10 game losing streak but it's still possible, after all they do have T-Mac. Yesterdays standing saw only 6 teams at .500% + and Magic only 4 ½ games off the top spot in the Atlantic. Orlando's division is the leagues weakest so they will have plenty of chances to get some wins. Another reason why they can make it is....well let me take you back years. The Raps lost VC to injury and lost 10 straight, then all of a sudden (still w/o VC) they win 10 straight and make the Playoffs as the 7th seed. Hows that for inspiration

As a Magic fan its good to hear that some people don't count out the magic yet. But IMO it would be tough for them. They should trade howard for a good quality center w/c the position they really lack if the playoffs is still they're target.

Had anyone in mind? Quality big men are becoming scarce, especially the Centers, so I don't think anyone would wanna give up their C for Howard.

I wouldn't give a roll of toilet paper for Juwan Howard's bullshit game.

lol its way too early for any team not to have a chance at making the playoffs

In the 96-97 season, the Suns started out 0-13 but then made the playoffs in the very tough west and almost took out # 2 Seattle. So, like crawford4MIP4real said, it is way too early to talk about the Magic not making the playoffs.

Yeah, very tough but even the Clippers made the playoffs that year with a 36-46 record.

I know it's still early to count them out, but yet they have to win games instead of looking at the leader as a target. Some teams in the Atlantic (knicks & Wiz) will try to make the playoffs this year making things more difficult for the Magic.

They face the Suns tonight. then Sacramento, Indy, Boston, Toronto, Hornets 2 (back to back), Spurs, Mavs, Suns again. That's a real bad schedule I would say, they probably will finish winning 2 out of those and that would still be a bad record.

I'm really glad that Howard rejected Detroit and chose to go to Orlando. He's not playing like he's supposed to. They just lost to the Suns with only T-Mac having any sort of decent game. Howard isn't contributing much anyways, he needs to go and they need someone that can SHOOT besides T-Mac. They just let Armstrong go, that was their 1st and biggest mistake. I wonder if they regret trading away Mike Miller?

if they reach 30 games below .500% then you can offically eliminate them. However, if they make a couple moves, they can go on a killer winning streak and get back in the picture since they are in the east.

lost by 30 to Kings.....last season at about this time i think they lost by 3 (125-122) with Webber playing. I think they need veteran help at the guard spots. Howard this time got 2pts on 2-8, and 1 rebound in 17 minutes and T-Mac missed all 6 of his 3's
