Carmelo tried to dunk on Yao Ming....

Postby paul_pierce_the_truth on Fri Oct 31, 2003 3:06 pm

He tried to dunk facing the rim from the front and Ming stuffed him, then Melo got the rebound and went up again, got rejected by Yao!

What 6'7" player could dunk on Ming? Oh yeah Kobe!

You can say others, but seeing is believing.

Vince Carter could probably jump over top of Yao ming. He jumped overtop a guy 3' shorter.

I don't think that french dude VC jumped over was standing completely straight up.
Still an impressive feat nonetheless

Weis is like 7'2........but VC would have a harder time dunkin on Ming because
1. he's 3 inches taller
2. He has a bigger wingspan than Weis therefore can reach higher
and most importantly MING is not a stiff

today was the first time i got to see him play and i was impressed with his overall aggressiveness and his willingness to initiate/take on contract. kudos to him for attacking yao. he drove on yao on another occasion and did draw a foul
Jump.

I wept with joy as I was watching the game, Yao was on a good roll, and he capped it off with that successive rejection. Everyone should have went home after that play...

Well, I ALMOST wept with joy.

Finley posterised Ming too last season didnt he?

Don't know how tall Finley is though, he's in the 6'6-6'8 category, I think.

If your one of the tallest players in the league it's hard to think that nobody will try to dunk on you. I mean that some players will be trying to make their name big with dunking on Yao(Melo's name is big but still) or they just want to prove that they can do it...(Kobe,Finley)Wouldve Melo tried it twice in a game if he wouldve not want to get on a highlight reel?
