Height vs. speed

When playing NBA Live in 1-1 mode, I sometimes bother if height or speed is more important...go back some years and imagine Muggsy Bogues plays against Manute Bol...

Or Muggsy Bogues against Gheorge Muresan...or Bradley...

What would happen in 1 on 1? All of Bogues' shots will be blocked but on the other hand Manute Bol can't dribble and Bogues will steal the ball all the time.
Ok, Bol wasn't bad at three pointers, so he could just stand behind the arc, Bogues wouldn't be able to block him and he could make some of his shots.

Second question: What is the best player in 1-1...imagine a really cool tournament, all NBA-players take part, play 1 on 1 in a knockout mode...who would win? Mc Grady? Bryant? Kidd? Garnett?

I think the taller guys have the advantage, in the defense they should be like a step away from the smaller guys so they cant drive to the hole, and if the smaller player decides to shoot it, then he can block it easier. On the offense the taller guys could just post up all the time, or dribble towards the basket while protecting the ball...so no shaking and baking

it depends who plays who, imo the best 1 on 1 players are the guards. Allen Iverson, Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, Paul Pierce and players like them

Kobe vs. McGrady

Garnett vs. Duncan

How about the greatest one-on-one ever?

Michael Jordan vs. Julius Erving would be cool.

How about

Isiah Thomas vs. John Stockton
Hakeem Olajuwan vs. David Robinson in 1995

so many

Magic vs. Bird?

I think the really good jump shooters, who can create their own shot would win.
I remember hearing this a couple of years back, (dunno if its true) but when the USA team was in the 2000 olympics, the team had a 1 on 1 tournament, and the final was Kevin Garnett vs Steve Smith.... reportedly Smith won cos he kept shooting on KG.... as i said before, i'm not sure if its true or not... cos personally i would think KG should own Steve Smith.(they probably weren't playing for real anyways)

There is no definate answer for "Height vs Speed", each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Maybe height would win, because even if the player couldn't dribble as well, he could just back the shorter player down in post up. e.g. Shaq vs Boykins?

One seaon he hit 10 out of 32...but in others, we wasn't that good. Years ago I saw a game on TV, he was slow as hell, when he arrived on the other side of the court during offense, his team had already taken the shot...and I also saw him shoot a three-pointer, his shot looked like a pass though...didn't jump, just threw the ball towards the basket with ease, the same way, a guard makes a longer pass..
