Chris Andersen is back with the NBA
NEW YORK, March 4, 2008 – The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association today granted the request of Chris Andersen to be reinstated as an NBA player, after Andersen was expelled from the league on January 27, 2006, for testing positive for a prohibited substance under the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.
The rights to Andersen’s playing services belong to the New Orleans Hornets, provided that the team tenders a player contract to Andersen within the next 30 days. If the Hornets do not make such a tender, Andersen will become an unrestricted free agent eligible to sign with any team.

in his defense, the frist year he did it, he got robbed on a sick reverse dunk in the first round.
in the next year, it was the year o' wheel. yeah the wheel made even Jason Richardson look bad.

I expect he'll be on an NBA roster again at some point, if only for a brief stint. The Hornets only have thirteen players on their roster and some extra depth up front couldn't hurt, so given they have first dibs that might be his first stop now that he's cleared to return.

And what a great prediction Andrew, as it just came true

I personally think this guy can still bring a lot of energy to any NBA team, and I'm a fan of his game because of his high-flying antics, but also his great defensive stops.
He's obviously a talented person who indeed made a mistake, but I think it's a good thing he gets a second chance.
I mean, it's not like he's gotten into trouble any time recently, he really worked on a comeback, while not even being sure if he'd ever get a shot at one, so that work ethic alone is admirable and I hope he can continue playing in the L for a long time coming...

I was bound to get one, eventually.

Well, now I dont care if brown signed with boston,
Birdman is back!!!!!!!
Sat Mar 08, 2008 9:14 am
Wouldn't Brown still be preferable?
Sat Mar 08, 2008 10:20 am
Brown is a good defender and he can shoot better than andersen, but he isnt as athletic as chris and he cant make espectacular dunks
Sat Mar 08, 2008 10:42 am
Which is more important in making a run at the championship though?
Sat Mar 08, 2008 11:31 am
Yeah... youre right chandler is already very athletic and can block shoots.
Still, the hornets needed another big man in the bench.
Sat Mar 08, 2008 2:28 pm
Absolutely. It's not as though he's the key to their success either; if he's not doing anything particularly productive, they can sit him and still field a lineup that's been able to produce the third best record in the West this season.
Tue Mar 11, 2008 11:17 am
Isn't he the one that missed 20 times in the dunk competition?
Tue Mar 11, 2008 12:19 pm
That's him.
