Kobe or LBJ in 2007-2008 season?

Even this season i've never seen something Lebron has done that Kobe hasnt.

Well, there is one thing that Lebron has done that "Kobe hasnt" done this season:
Kobe does not have more clutch games than Lebron this season. Oh noes, Kobe fails!

its more bizarre that many of you guys think Lebron is more clutch by reading those stats. Lebron got himself into more games that forced clutch games. kobe played much less minutes and games that were forced to clutch situations. Think about it, the lakers have been dominating a lot of teams by a large margin, hence they play less games that puts them in clutch situation. On the other hand Lebron finds himself in a close game against teams that are bad AND yes, very good teams also

Facing a bad team or not, forced clutch games or not, a clutch situtation is still a clutch situation. It can't be ignored that Lebron still has more clutch games than Kobe this season.
Which would you choose, a team/player that is hardened by numerous clutch situations or a team/player that is winning blowout games? Ask the 67-15 Mavericks or 18-1 Patriots if you need help.


Another thing interesting in that stat link is the Ast'd category which shows the percentage of a player creating his own clutch shot/FG rather than just waiting for the ball to be passed to him and then shooting it, thus the assist.

Kobe creates more of his shots than Lebron with 17% and 22% respectively. Oh noes, Lebron fails!

In that link also the Cavaliers have 9 players while the Lakers have 5 players, so Lebron's team do get into a lot of (forced) clutch situations than Kobe's team.

I admit that I am a Lebron fan. Basketball is a team game and I think Bron plays to the tune in that the sense. I’m not particular about the stats but I know he fills up the sheet almost every night (that could be attributed to his overall skill and, significantly, to his position). As a team player I’d say his better than Kobe considering the fact that the black mamba has been a public figure with regards to trade demands but I think that’s somewhat understandable since he wants to win and he thinks that demanding a trade to another team would satisfy his hunger for victory. Logical I think. Still, berating it as clear as he did was unethical fortunately his team took it as a challenge and as a result they’re currently are winning and is sitting atop the western division. I know it’s kinda contradictory, but what im saying is that it was a make or break act on his part.

Yes, Lebron does rebound well, looks to pass to his teammates, powerful, agile, you name it. He’s very mature for his age. I don’t remember hearing that his ego has sky rocketed much like younger players back in the day who demanded trades or higher salaries because they have proved that they are worth their draft spot. With all the hype and all the expectations that surrounded him, he still managed to keep it cool and deliver. I think that’s why he is admired. Yes, he posterizes people, dishes out amazing feeds, gets triple doubles or gets a lot of and ones. But I think fans also love him ‘cause he epitomizes a kid’s dream. That a player as young as him would be referred to as king.

On the other side of the spectrum we have KB24. Honestly, I hatED kobe back in the day when he had shaq. I personally saw him as a cocky player. Now I think he has matured. With that said, I’d say that Kobe is better than Bron for NOW. Yes, Bron will get there, soon! But right now Kobe is on another level of his own. As many of you pointed out, Kobe has an edge in experience and can score anywhere and anytime he wants to and nobody can do anything about that including that dirty-ass-jump-kicking-groin-smashing-i-didn’t-do-anything-except-put-my-feet-under-your-feet-as-you-shoot-to-injure-you, Bruce Bown. Looking back, I think I hated him because of that. He was and still is unstoppable especially in crucial games. That’s what he does, he breaks his opponent’s heart. Pound for pound Kobe is the best in the league right now and even lebron and some other players would back that up. I also like the fact that he IS a better defender than LBJ. That makes him equally feared in both offense and defense. Plus he’s smart. Specially, that pump fake he has. Man, I hate it when he does that. Maybe because I feel for his victims. Hahaha

Bron will get his MVP sooner than we might expect but much like Iverson deserved it in 2000-01 season after so much conflict in Philly, I think Kobe deserves it now. Peace!

... That's only stats man.. Yep that are very good stats but only stats.. Yeah Kobe scored 81.. Not in 07-08, but the fact that he performed thing like that talks very much.. And I'm not a guy who like stats.. I like to watch the player's games and to see their real skills.. For me.. The better player is this who can make his teammates better.. Who can make his team a winner.. That's are players like Paul, Kobe, Roy.. they help to theirs teams.. Yep LBron had the unbelieve stats this year.. But as i say.. The Team, and the WIN is more important form the player stat..
And yup i know BIG GREEN, my English sucks.. But i am 14 years old.. And i live in a country that this language is not very modern..So you gotta excuse me !!! OK?

Actually, the question is Chris Paul or LeBron James, atleast for me, and for some reason I would like to see Chris Paul. Chris Paul and LeBron James were the two players of All-Star game, and so far they are the MVP candidates, although Kobe is also, ofcourse. I actually think it is LeBron, but maybe Chris Paul.. I don't know, can't be sure.

If the lakers continue winning like they are now...i'm almost 100% sure kobe will win mvp but this topic isn't about who the mvp is...it's about who the best player is.
