Shaq, Kobe, Malone, Payton, Jordan?

Wed Oct 08, 2003 6:52 am

Ah yes, believe it or not if Kobe doesn't play this year, Phil Jackson might call Jordan and ask if he would play for the Lakers....yes the Lakers..
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1632466

now to me this is total crap
As much as I like Jordan, I'd rather see him on ANY other team BESIDES the Lakers...I mean, look how many great players the Lakers got right now and have had in the past? To add Jordan to that list would be just so fucking stupid of him...
i really hope Jordan don't go to the Lakers..if he does, just cancel the NBA season and give the Lakers there ring.

jordan should NEVER join the Lakers, Celtics ( got too many stars like Larry Bird) and Knicks ( poor knicks got owned by the bulls every year)

JORDAN TO LAKERS= NBA IS SCREWED UP AND UNFAIR!

i know jordan isn't kobe or as good as kobe but still, just the name scares ya

I think it is a load of BS. Phil said "it crossed my mind" and now the media thinks that Phil might consider bringing him back.

Mike....please stay away, you are out like the Timberwolves out the 1st round

Wed Oct 08, 2003 8:06 am

I'd like Jordan to come just to get another ring.

Wed Oct 08, 2003 8:18 am

no no...he's not gonna be as good as he was anymore plus he has nothing to prove...

Mike stay away :? , I think you should respect the man if he considered playing for the Lakers, he could be the best player to ever play the game, just the thought of him in a LA Jersey gets me all tingley, a few years from now we could say: "Michael Jordan played for LA". Tell me that doesnt sound great (this one is for the LA supporters, the rest ofcourse would hate this :P ). I cant imagine anything greater then MJ agreeing to join LA, he doesnt have anything to prove? Who gives a shit? It's THE MICHAEL JORDAN, I sure as hell dont give a shit if he's too old, too slow, too wahtever, he can produce 15, 5 and 5 any given day. I wouldnt want him to join only for his stats, I would want him to join because, HE'S MICHAEL JORDAN!!! Have you people FORGOTTEN who this man is? Why in heavens name wouldnt you want him on your team? :? :x
I dont see it, I'm sorry, I just cant get as to WHY you wouldnt want him back in the NBA, he's the best thing that ever happened to the NBA.

I dont think it'll happen, but still just the thought of it makes me grin. :D

Once again people are coming with with their lame ass "MJ is washed up arguments" you people know damn well MJ would help the Lakers out with whatever role they need him to fill. With as much attention that as Shaq, Malone and GP would draw MJ could definately contribute. Last year with the Wiz he was "the go to guy" this year he would be like the 4th option if need be. Hell yes I want to see Mike get another ring an reunite with Phil!
I wouldn't mind if MJ sported a Lakers jersey this season because frankly it's meaningless. This years laker team has really no identity outside of Shaq and Kobe. Brian Shaw is gone, Rick fox is hurt, Horry is gone, Fisher is off the bench. I mean the Lakers are no longer "The Lakers," they have turned into "Shaq, Kobe, GP, and Malone." It's a friggin joke already, bring on his airness. :D

Yeah, I read this this a while ago. People kept saying that MJ hasn't filed retirment papers yet. Personally, I would love MJ to be back in the NBA again, for the Bulls though, not LA. He and Scottie deserve a final year together. If I were Michael, I wouldn't go to LA because I would essentially help break the 72 win mark set by my own team when I was in my prime. Without Jordan, there's still a chance that LA may not get to the 72 win mark.

P.S. If someone told me in 1996 that MJ, Malone, Payton, and Shaq were going to be on the same team, I would never have believed hiim since all four guys were in the conference finals that year. It's kind of strange how time changes things.

Jordan made too much of a big deal with his last season. He got more than 7 gifts from different teams during his last few games and let's consider his emotional All-Star game speech as well.

I wouldn't want to be the owner of a team who gave MJ a $10,000 present and just to hear that Jordan will come back for another season  He's proved enough to us already.

Sounds like another one of Phil's mind games to me. Though that would be a pretty impressive lineup, to say the least.

stay away, mj, stay away from the yellow and purple! yuck! :miserable:

Did you even READ what I posted?

No need to get offended :P .

Well? MJ to the LAkers! I would laugh so hard if they signed him but at the same time Kobe was released cause they decided they wanted to! LOL...but I can't see it happening! MJ would come back for the ring...but honestly, being a Laker fan and however much i wanna see us have a 'dream' team...i think it's pretty chreap...as for MJ rejoining Bulls? I have no problem wit that!

Wed Oct 08, 2003 6:30 pm

I'd love to see him back, but for the Lakers?? I can't not support Michael Jordan, but how am I supposed to support the Lakers? Can't be done. So MJ, come back to the Bulls and it's all good :D

Also...
Michael Jordan playing for the Lakers? The thought has occurred to Phil Jackson. But it hasn't occurred to MJ, who said his answer would be no.

I know hes Michael Jordan, the best 2-guard of all time and I have mad respect for him....but its time for the next generation now, he should pick up his life and move on to the next level. Let him be  :P

Live is the next level after the NBA? In that case we're all bloody champions! And why would MJ have to pick up his Live? Wouldn't EA just deliver it to him?

:D

LOL yeah that's one thing he can do for now... until he gets beaten by the Cavs, with Lebron James scoring in typical Live style, with 13 consecutive crossover and spin move combinations followed by a double pump reverse jam in traffic. Then MJ gets pissed off, throws down the controller, and sings with the Lakers. :?

He'll sing with them stevan? Why would he want to sing with them? :P

didnt you told me that LA should stop getting old players, and start looking in the future?

Yeah, that counts for normal players like Karl Malone and Gary Payton, not for Michael Jordan!! I would think it's the best thing if he signed, man, to say...MJ played for the Lakers...wow. It would be a fantastic line-up.

C-O'Neal
PF-Malone
SF-Jordan<< Looks nice doesnt it, instead of George :P No offense George.
SG-Bryant
PG-Payton

Ain't happening but dreaming is fun.

Jordan: Laker? 100% NO

Espn Article wrote:In fact, his response -- issued through a spokeswoman -- was short, to the point and unequivocal: "100 percent no."

Shaq says he'll play till 38/39

Wish him the best of luck (Y). Hope he doesnt become like Olajuwan though.
