I don't think Shaq/Kobe/Malone/Payton are all going to average 20+ points in the season. That means that the bench players would only get 20 points combined, unless the Lakers win each game by 120 or more points.

Predicted starting lineup:

C - O'Neal
PF - Malone
SF - George (Fox still has his injury)
SG - Bryant
PG - Payton

Predicted season averages:

O'Neal - 25+ PPG
Malone - 15+ PPG
Bryant - 25+ PPG
Payton - 15+ PPG

Difficult to say. I don't think they'll account for 80 or 90% of the Lakers' offense. I'd say Shaq and Kobe will average 25+ apiece, but I doubt Payton and Malone will get more than 15 ppg apiece.

I'm not tryin to be some bum...and u may think Kobe can't score 30 per game...but hey- These are my predictions and I stand by them!

C: Shaq: 25ppg, 12rpg, 3agp, 2bpg-Hopefully he can shoot .70% for his FT
PF: Malone: 15ppg, 7rpg, 4apg
SF: George: 10ppg, 4rpg, 4apg
SG: Kobe: 30ppg, 7rpg, 6apg, 1.5spg (If he plays that is!)
PG: Payton: 15ppg (Just had to round it up from 18), 9apg and 2spg
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BENCH
C: Medvedenko
PF: Grant
SF: Walton
SG: Rush
PG: Pargo
PF: Brian Cook
SF: Fox (Injured)

I just added all the bench to show my predicted Laker Roster...and because I have nbothing better to do...but honestly...if the Starting Five score wat i have put down how will the bench score???

Anyway...based on my prediction Lakers starting Five will score 95ppg- hows that?

So will r u saying the rest of the lakers team will average only 5 ppg assuming the lakers avg. about 100 ppg. I dont think so.
My opinion is
Shaq-24
Kobe-25
GP-15
KM-12 (he is gettingtoo old, but dont get me wrong I think he is an extremely amzing player still. He doesn't have stockton anymore to help him out also.)

He will have 10 asses per game :o hehehe just messing  . Been doin that alot since late, this board has evil powers.

Anywho:

Shaq: 20-28 points, 10 boards, 4 apg.
Malone: 10-15 points, 7 boards, 2 apg.
George: 5-8 points, 3 boards, 2apg.
Kobe: 20-28 points, 6 boards, 6 apg
Payton: 10-14 points, 3-5 boards, 5-8 apg. (Triangle)

Bench may be able to chip in with +|- 10 points when these guys are resting.

shaq may certainly slow down his offensive amount with payton and malone

shaq 23 ppg
malone 18 ppg
george 8 ppg
bryant 27 ppg
payton 16 ppg

so the starting 5 worths according to me 92 pts per game, ouch

He goes to trial in what, early November? The season's only a week old when he's going to be in court...which means he'll probably miss games, and if the trial drags out (as it probably will), Kobe will most likely miss a significant amount of games...

As for the projected ppg, I don't normally do this, but why not...

Shaq - 26 11 6apg 2bpg
Malone - 18 6 3apg 1spg
George - 7 3 2apg 1spg
Kobe - 28-32ppg 4 6apg
Payton - 15 4 rpg 8apg 1+spg

gotta agree with kobe4real, pretty realistic imo (y), malone wont score much imo, he and payton are past their primes, and but they now they can still make big plays and kinda chose not to be the main options, gary is still gonna score some more then karl i think, who chose to be third option and do the little things, cuz he really wants that title, stats dont concern him at all i think

I know he will mis a handful of games, but I meant that he will play this season, like 70 games. In my opinion VCFAN makes it sound like he may miss the season, "This is assuming Kobe is playing." but maybe its just me

Unless he's acquitted or convicted quickly (which only happens on TV, this'll pry be another OJ media circus once the trial starts), he'll be lucky to play 50 games. The criminal process is very complex, and if he doesn't make a plea, the trial will still probably be going on this time next year...
