Wolves offer extension to KG.

Offer to Garnett on the table.

They tried really really hard to make Garnett stay by adding key players like Cassel, Olowakandi and Spree...If he does sign, he'll still be a franchise player, but deep down inside, I dont want him to...
 Imagine KG in a Bulls uniform, that would be a NICE lineup for the future...
C- Curry
PF- Chandler
SF- Garnett
SG- Rose
PG- ? Hinrich? Hope Jay comes back?

Anyways only time will tell...(Y)

I'd love to see KG in a Bulls uniform too, but I don't see that happening.

Meanwhile, smart move by Minnesota. I get the feeling KG would test the free agent waters given the chance, so extending his contract before he has a chance to do so is a great idea.

Well Andrew, remember a few months back I posted that article that said KG wanted to join the Bulls? Well maybe he still has intentions of doing so (Y).

If he was after the money, I dont think he would test the waters, as written in the article he stands on making the most money with the Wolves, so from a financial stand-point (as if his is bad) I dont think he would test the waters.

Money might not be his biggest concern, but he'd probably want more than the Bulls can offer him. That means the only way he can come to Chicago without taking a pay cut is via a trade.

[urlhttp://cbs.sportsline.com/nba/story/6687655]Reported: T-Wolves agree to extension with Garnett.[/url]

The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that Garnett has signed a five-year contract extension that is thought to be worth more annually than his current deal, which averaged out to $21 million per year over six years.

Good going Wolves (Y).

There go my hopes  . (N)

kg leaving minnesota was unlikely after the offseason minnesota had. good job by management to get him signed before the season started. definitely would have been a distraction if they didn't get it done now.

but imo, he shouldn't have resigned anyway. kg should try to get into the eastern conference.

Minnesota have applied to move East when the conferences/divisions are re-aligned, so it could still happen without KG leaving the T'Wolves.

I don't have one handy, but there was a thread about it a couple of months back, which should contain a link to the original article.

This Thread

Unfortunately there is no link given in it, but I am sure I can dig up something if I have the time. :)

Edit: Had time  .

The Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves have asked the league to consider moving both teams to the Eastern Conference, and the New Orleans Hornets to the Western Conference. The league is considering realignment for the 2003-04 season.

Well the T-wolves finally surrounded KG with the talent that he's been crying out for, therefore getting him to sign an extension... smart move
