The balls not big enough

Mon Sep 29, 2003 12:05 am

Which team do you think will have trouble sharing the ball.
Is it LA who put together a team of veteren All Stars? could it be the mavs, who are loaded with talent? Nets maybe who have guys with a ton of potential? Maybe the Kings? How about thos magic?

Who do you think?

The Lakers, at least early on next season. The Mailman and GP claim to have no problems becoming the third and fourth options on the team, but old habits are hard to break. Shaq, Kobe, Malone and Payton are not all going to average 20 ppg - a couple of them are going to have to sacrifice their touches and therefore their scoring average.

They're all veterans, they're capable of being unselfish and doing what it takes to win. But the Lakers aren't going to be on top of their game every game.

I voted for the Lakers cause 4 guys who average over 20 ppg for their careers but the Mavs are next in the line and i think Zen Master will think something out for the Lakers...Malone just has to average something around 12 ppg in 2 seasons to break the record and Payton doesn't have to hog the ball cause he only wants the ring...damn i shouldve voted for the Mavs (N)

thats lakers

Mon Sep 29, 2003 1:07 am

what about minny? Kg pours in about 20pts automatically, spree always scores his share to(15+ at least but normally 20+), so does cassel(also at least 15+)and so can wally, and we aint talkin bout hudson yet so they 'll have trouble imo. The lakers will too of curz but i think phil will find a way

Mon Sep 29, 2003 1:23 am

i'd take the lakers if they have Kobe or not...no offence to the Laker fans but sumtimes the Lakers can be kinda selfish and itz rili hard to shard a ball with four 22 ppg players...and if say Malone's hot but Shaq wanted to shoot so much he'd do it...so i'd go with the Lakers...

If the Lakers had any coach but Phil Jackson, then I'd choose them. But they have a genius coach who I have faith in and will make it work. So I'm going with the T-Wolves.

he will play next season.

And just like Gloveguy said, I would have pick LA if they didnt have Phil Jackson as their headcoach. I would say Minnesota

I agree Phil will find a way imo. (Y) Dallas is my vote.

the lakers. they have like 4 stars on their team :?

Mon Sep 29, 2003 8:06 am

the purple pansies of course for the reasons already mentioned. also i'd like to add that shaq openly complained he didn't get enough touches last year... eek! and that was when the adulterer was the only other reliable scorer on the team

and the bulls to some extent because it still remains to be seen if rose will concede shots to the other guys. another factor is that crawford & fizer will be playing for contract extensions as well

But then again the lakers could lead the L in scoring, maybe averaging 120 ppg(not too likely but it could happen). Then they can be a phenomenal scoring team. And with their enhanced D, they can force TO's more.

My vote goes to Dallas. They are too 3 point happy(like the celtics) Everyone on their team has 3 pt. range. I wouldnt be surprised to see eachone of their players comedown and pop a 3 every possesion.

i don't get it wut does that have to do with ball not big enough for everyone...at least everyone on the team is not know for their selfishness  and Mavs are happy to share the ball with each other...

Everyone's known for their shelfishness? Hmmm...lets see:

Shaquille O'Neal - Known for being one of the most dominant players of all time, and his sometimes funny/sometimes lame quotes.

Karl Malone - Known for being one of the best players without a ring, John Stockton's partner, and giving Isiah Thomas a lot of stitches.

Devean George - Will be known for being the only non-star on the 2003-2004 Lakers Championship starting lineup

Kobe Bryant - Known for having a hot wife, cheating on that hot wife, and being charged with rape

Gary Payton - Known for arguably being the best two-way point guard of all time, and one of the biggest trashtalkers of all time

I think he's probably the best player without a ring and one of the best players ever. He's probably going to be known as the all-time scoring leader soon.

If Malone wants the scoring title he'll at least have to play 3 seasons...cuz he has to share his points with Shaq,Kobe and Payton...so this means about 13-15 ppg for him...

Malone's current point total: 36,374
Kareem's point total: 38,387
Point differential: 2013

2013 divided by 14 ppg comes out to about 144 games or less than 2 seasons. In the future, please try to think a little and back up your claims when you post so you don't look stupid.

#1 i'm surprised all the adulterer worshipers on this board haven't jumped on you for the rape comment.

#2 the 2003 2004 championship comment sounds like something the aforementioned worshiperers would say, not you.

The Mavs

4 20+ scorers in the line-up, and all of the mcould prolly average 25+ at a certain time.

i dont think the lakers will have to much problems becoz we saw Malones scoring drop last year, so i think its pretty safe to say hes not going for 20+ this year.
Payton wants a ring so he will do what is asked im sure.

Kobe and Shaq should get anywhere from 20-30 depends pn how much the other scores.
but since shaq cried for the ball again, and will prolly get his way things may be bad for the lakers.
hopefully Phil can do the job.
