As Q said, the Chinese could be making him say this, but I don't know. If it was straight from Yi, with no pressure to say anything false, it's time for people to stop making Yi out as a victim. The kid, his countries goverment, Fegan have done enough damage. I say if it's true, send Yi's ass back to the CBA to collect his playing time and keep him from ever returning to the NBA.
I think it's at that point now. If Yi's words aren't his own then one can sympathise with him but the whole situation, which has been so poorly and disgracefully handled by Yi's camp, is a bigger headache than any team should have to put up with from a rookie especially one whose summer league performance received such mixed reviews. Fingers can be pointed at everyone from Chinese officials to his handlers to Dan Fegan to Yi himself but I think the most important thing right now is getting the whole ugly business sorted out one way or another.

If i were the bucks, I'd refuse to work out a deal, and make him sit a year, just to be vindictive. Theres a heartbroken kid out there that was good enough to make the league who is doing nothing and this douche and/or his douche handlers are complaining about playing time.
Hear, hear.

Whenever situations like this arise - and I'd include incidents like Francis' trade demands and Glenn Robinson holding out for huge deal from the Bucks after being drafted in 1994 - you can't help but think of players like John Starks and Mario Elie, players who were never stars but had to work so hard to make in the league, going undrafted (or in Elie's case being a seventh round selection), playing on 10 day contracts and in minor leagues or overseas before finding a place in the NBA.
Much better stories than a player whose first impact in the league is a dispute over playing for the team that selected him with a lottery pick.
