box score: Dal Vs China???

Anyone know where i can see the box score from the Mavs vs China game that happened on July 3rd?

Wang Zhizhi was the leading scorer for the Chinese team with 28 points. Zhu Fangyu had 17, Yi Jianlian with 11 points (10 points and 10 rebounds at half).

China was down 25-18 at the end of the first quarter, 50-47 at the end of half. They staged a comeback the 3rd quarter and took the lead 77-74, but the Mavs surged in the final quarter and squeeked out a 105-100 victory.

As for the Mavs, Pops led them with 24 points, including the game-tying dunk with 2:50 remaining. Draft pick Nick Fazekas had 14 points in 30 minutes of play.

What is funny is that this is the first game the Chinese team played under NBA rules, therefore the morning before the game they had to have a special clinic detailed the differences between FIBA rules and NBA rules.

I still think Yi can be pretty good.. he seems like a tough player... (he bangs and is aggressive to the hole).... But i think he has a lot of growing to do.. i don't expect him to be productive until 2nd year.. and decent by year 3.. and maybe be an impact player starting year 4.. kind of like Dirk(progression) wise.. but i am thinking he'll be more of a bigger Tim Thomas..

I really hope Yi Jianlian opens up in NBA (which doesn't happen too often with over the seas player). He's tall, quick, got a nice shoot and very athletic but he'll need to adjust a lot for the bigger NBA players, especially in the D-department.

Parker, Nowitzki, Ginobili, Diaw, Yao, etc. Since your name has Ukrain in it, I can agree, no1 from Ukraine played well in NBA.

Peja, Raja Bell, Luol Deng, Wang, Nocioni, Jaric, Ginobili, Radmanovic, the Gasols, Oberto, Delfino, guys lke that have been successfull as well.

I wouldn't put Nocioni in there and definitely wouldn't put in Wang, Zhizhi is a good player but made no impact in NBA.

If you just look at top 15 picks for every Ginobili, Nowitzki, Raja, Gasol or Kirilenko there are Abdul-Wahad, Yinka Dare, Moïso, Foyle, Frédéric Weis, Sefolosha, Sene, Potapenko, Vázquez, Araújo, Radojevic, Olowokandi etc. The list keeps going as you can expect.

I just think its much harder for euro players to morph into NBA then US college players.

how could you include Sefolosha in that list....he had a good rookie season & has potential to be a good NBA player....as for Vazquez, he's never played in NBA or tried to, so you can't include him in that list....

I don't think you can include Abdul-Wahad, Dare, Moiso, Foyle, Araujo or Olowokandi on your list....they all played college basketball & most of them played 3 or 4 years of it & should be included under the list of college players to NBA being busts, not international players....

sure there is a lot of Euro failures, but a lot of that was caused by teams picking too much on potential....at the same time that they were picking these Euro busts, they were also stretching at high school players or college underclassmen who were as ready as these 18 year old Euro 7 footers....

in my original post i almost put the adam/larry comparison but i didnt for 2 reasons. 1, i never though he would even come close to bird and there was nothing worth comparing the 2 except they are white. 2, too early to really call him a bust so he has escaped, for now.

I wouldn't call 3.3 PPG, 2.2 RPG and .8 APG in 71 games an outstanding rookie season and as for Vazquez I personally think that Vazquez's skills are not up to par to even let him play in NBA yet. He says he is ready but somehow hasn't actively gone after that oportunity instead he went with more lucrative deal in Spain and now finishing his contract. Of coarse we'll see what comes out of it when he actually plays. But why would he run off with 4-year Spain contract after confirming that he'll play for Orlando?.. I think he's the next Darko. (although Darko might stage a comeback:) )

Guys like KG/Tmac didn't have big statical seasons.. but we could obvious see the potential in them even in their first year...

Sefolosha is by no means a bust. As 1Cent said, please watch these players before you say something like that.

Thabo showed flashes of being a really great player. He can play PG/SG/SF, plays fantastic defence and can score. He so solid all round its amazing. He rebounds like crazy for a guy 6'5, great court vision and passer, locks down some big time players (eg Dwyane Wade). The only thing he really needs to work hard on is his shooting ability, but mainly from long range so he can hit the three consistantly.

as Flite said, you can't judge a player by stats....if you saw Sefolosha actually play for the Bulls, you would've seen him win some games for the Bulls....not many rookies help teams win games....when I think about it, I can probably name about half a dozen or so he did (Bargnani, Roy, Millsap, Garbajosa & Sefolosha)....I'm sure there's a few more, but his impact goes beyond his stats....that's like saying Bowen is the league's worst starter....
