... playoff series you saw? Here's my favorites:

East:

1st Round: 1998 Knicks vs Heat (Not only a competitive series but Mourning and LJ fight with Van Gundy holding on for dear life while clinging to Alonzo Mourning's leg).

2nd Round: 2001 Sixers vs Raptors (AI and Vince get into a scoring duel with both players cracking the 50 point mark and the Sixers winning by one point in Game 7)

Conf. Finals: 1998 Bulls vs Pacers (Reggie's shot and Larry Bird's reaction in Game 4 was incredible and all the games except the first three in Chicago were very competitive)

West:

1st Round: 1998 Sonic vs T-Wolves (Very competitive series with the young T-Wolves almost taking out the heavily favored Sonics in 5 games)

2nd Round: 2003 Spurs vs Lakers (It was great seeing LA's reign end because of their cocky and lazy (except Kobe) attitude and Fisher and Kobe crying after game 6 was one of the funniest things I've ever seen)

Conf. Finals: 1997 Jazz vs Rockets (Five Future Hall of Famers still close to their primes fighting for the right to play the Bulls. Two game-winning buzzer beaters by Eddie Johnson and John Stockton made this series great. Note: I would have put the Kings and Lakers series from 2002 here had it not been for the terrible officiating)

NBA Finals: 1997 Jazz vs Bulls (So many subplots in this series with the MVP voting at the top of the list. Four of the six games had memorable endings. Malone's missed free-throws and Jordan's game-winner in game 1. Stockton's great play down the stretch in game 4 and his full court pass to Malone was a thing of beauty. Jordan's heroic performance in Game 5 was admirable. Jordan's pass to Steve Kerr for the game winner after correctly predicting in the huddle in game 6 was brilliant. In all, the point differential of the series was only .66 points per game)

I saw the game with "the alley-oop" recently on The Score's "classic court surfing." What a game.

That was a great series. Portland not only should have won Game 7 but also Game 4. They made terrible decisions down the stretch in Game 4 and Sabonis got his shot blocked by Kobe at the end of the game. I still remember Scottie pounding his fists on and throwing a big bag of ice after the game. Also I think Ron Harper made the game-winning shot in that game with less than a minute left.

Can't pick one from the East or the West at this time...but the 1992, 1997 and 1998 NBA Finals are my favourite Finals...with 1991, 1993 and 1996 coming in close second.
