Well yeah, whatever way they do it Grant and Medvedenko will get 10 or 15 minutes a game backing up either Shaq or Malone :)

Signing Grant for the veteran's minimum was a good move by Mitch Kupchak. Sure, he won't put up 10 and 10, but the Lakers won't need him to. In any case, it's an upgrade over Mark Madsen, which is by no means a knock on the always-spirited Mad Dog.

In regard to Devean George ...
Some of the Lakers have stated he will be starting. Which isn't exactly the best idea.

You got a better idea, pal?

Grant has always been a pretty decent offensive player, given the opportunity to score.

I'm not very enthusiastic with this change, i like LA and admire Horace Grant's career, but i think that he's very old now and is very little what he can contribute to the team.

He won't be starting, so he won't need to play like the Horace Grant of old for 30+ minutes a night. The Lakers have the Mailman, who is older but in better condition. The fortunes of the Lakers will not rest upon Grant, so I don't see how this is a bad move.

Shaq's dance partner went to Minny, & he needed someone who supports his songs even when that person knows he sucks singing, lol. Horace will be doing ok there, maybe just like Salley years back (nothing).
