i'd start with young dr.j. mostly because on top of his greatness, he was a good team player and had a good personality, which could be helpful in bringing in more elite players as free agents. if he had gone straight to the nba he would probably have had many rings, but he had become more of a team player when he got there and unfortunately when the sixers starting putting together championship caliber teams, the lakers and celtics just had better overll teams. i think though if you plug a young doc on those bulls teams in place of jordan, they could have won just as many titles.

John Stockton. 19 years of hard work and only two seasons with missed games. No legal troubles like most stars and a good role model = Sells lots of tickets.

u serious? john stockton as your first choice? over all those greats? wow... i think someone like Magic Johnson would sell more tickets like stockton.. but it your opinion...

Stockton's played longer than most of those greats and he's been very productive. Plus, his clean image is very helpful in selling tickets. That's one of the big reasons why the Jazz had great attendence records, even near the end of his career when the Jazz were not very good. I'm answering the question posed from a financial and commercial point of view, and that's why I picked Stockton.

I'm answering the question posed from a financial and commercial point of view, and that's why I picked Stockton.
If you're justifying your choice from a fiscal standpoint, then why not take LeBron? The dude's yet to play a regular season game, and already, the Cleveland Cavaliers matter again. Pretty impressive. Plus, it's not like he doesn't have incredible on-court potential in addition to the money-making buzz that seems to shadow his every move.
Anyway, if it were up to me, I'd go with the self-proclaimed most dominate player ever (and I won't disagree!), Shaquille O'Neal.

obviously when healthy the best player in theleague is and will continue to be Shaq.. Simply unguardable... Tim Duncan is great but not the best pivot man... shaq dunks over double teams.. just a man among boys..
Both duncan and shaq pretty much suck at free throw shooting.. so we go straight with the offense and the Dee so Shaq by a Big Mac meal(superized)

Tim Duncan...nuff said. If anyone can win a championship with Bruce Bowen and Stephen Jackson (2 Undrafted Players) as starters, he must be doing something right.

There's a lot of hype about LeBron and I attribute that in part to the curiosity factor, but maybe he will end up being one of the greastest to ever play. However, Stockton was a very good role model because of his clean image, humble personality(unlike "King" James
), and tatoo-free body. Most of middle class white America can tell its kids to look up to him because of his conservative lifestyle. Also, I picked him for his longetivity and effectiveness over that period of time.Quote:

Right, I forgot about Yao. Though I don't think he will ever be very big because of his nationality (same thing that happened with Hakeem)
Final note, just keep in mind that Stockton is my second choice to start a franchise, MJ is the first but he is off limits in this topic.
