In my opinion the best player in the NBL atm is CJ, awesome passer, got good handlez and can get the ball to the basket.
Who do you guys think?
Tue Feb 21, 2006 7:55 pm
Best Australian? Import? doesnt matter?
Best all round aussie player would be Glenn Saville
(even tho his numbers are a little down this season)...he can score, rebound, pass and defend...Much like Slammin Sammy...those 2 are very much alike...CJ is probably the best guard in the league atm. Anstey is a standout at best center.
Best Import...Willie Farley of adelaide is pretty damn good...i also like Shawn Redhage coz he helped take my Bendigo Braves to the championship last season in the SEABL
GO KINGS!!
Tue Feb 21, 2006 8:01 pm
YES! Another Glenn Savillle fan. I thought I was all alone here.
I saw Willy Farley washing his car, we live in the same town.
Tue Feb 21, 2006 8:18 pm
Willey Farley washing his car hey? Was he wearing a white shirt?
Nah in all seriousness its Chris Anstey. The tigers lost copeland, gaze and bradkte and only picked up anstey and yet they improved. Plus he could just be the man to end the kings run

Game 1 on monday night!.
Tue Feb 21, 2006 8:19 pm
Actually he was wearing 6ers gear from head to toe... washing his car with a 6ers towel, and had 6ers stickers on the car.

Robert Skrnjug is teh pwn of the league (in 10 years, I hope

)
I dont pay any attention to the NBL and shit, its play-offs already?
Tue Feb 21, 2006 9:26 pm

Who?

That's Sammy Sosa's nickname...
Tue Feb 21, 2006 11:03 pm
Sam MacKinnon

Slammin' Sam MacKinnon!!
Sammy Sosa...baseball player right?
Tue Feb 21, 2006 11:08 pm
Sammy Sosa...baseball player right?
Right.
Slammin' Sam MacKinnon!!
I remember Sam McKinnon, Aaron Tracher (and ... there was another McKinnon brother, right?) back in 1995 in the Junior World Championships here in Greece... you guys finished second.
Tue Feb 21, 2006 11:13 pm
Aaron Trahair? Hes a legend coz hes from my home town!

so is Glenn Saville for that matter go Bendigo! woohoo
Sun Apr 02, 2006 1:05 am
Chris Anstey without doubt!!!! a 7-footer who can shoot the 3, and was a beast on the boards, leading scorer for the championship team (melbourne tigers) and in the end won the league mvp! case closed
Sun Apr 02, 2006 1:07 am
the MVP is not always the best player in the league....for example i dont believe Steve Nash is the best player in the NBA, do you?
Sun Apr 02, 2006 1:41 am
no... kobe is, duh! but whos better that anstey in the NBL???? come on???? why do you think the tigers won the championship this year? if memory serves they didn't win it without anstey last season and they lost gaze, copeland and bradtke this season!!!
Sun Apr 02, 2006 2:22 am
NBL = Naked Basketball League?
Sun Apr 02, 2006 9:22 am
I dont really watch much NBL, but from what I do see/hear about it, Anstey is the most dominant and best player.
Sun Apr 02, 2006 9:55 am
i never watch the NBL
Fri Sep 15, 2006 11:05 pm
Sorry I'm a bit late for this, I only just joined, but Glen Saville is my favourite player too!(As I am a Hawks fan and am from Wollongong)
But didn't CJ Bruton play for the Hawks some years back?
Sat Sep 16, 2006 1:55 am
Cool avatar.^^
anyway, with Shane Heal back in the league, i'm gonna stick by him.
It's good to see another Victorian team in the NBL. In my earlier days, i was a Magic, then Titans, then Victoria Giants fan. And it's good to not have to support the Tigers by default any more.
Also, i used to be friends with Frank Drmic's sister and had a couple of beers with him once. so it's also good to see him back in the country. hmmm, maybe i should look her up again...
And Matt Burston and Todd Fuller make up a pretty imposing frontcourt.
And all that with Mark Price on the sidelines. Victorian Basketball is fun again! hoorah!

Do any of u guys remember Mike Chappelle??? I met him and his family a while back and he signed my shoes

He was the man, the last time i saw him play he scored 44... to bad he didnt make the raps roster
Sat Sep 16, 2006 2:17 am
Who did he play for? ^^
i'm gonna try to make a point of watching all of the NBL games that i can this season. I've been out of the loop for far too long. i just went to the NBL official website, and i had no idea that there was a freaking team in Singapore. Makes for one hell of a road trip.
And Rob Rose and Lanard Copeland - STILL PLAYING?! In their 40s both of them. They could easily make a push for 50. Well, not easily.
Sat Sep 16, 2006 3:46 am
He played for the Breakers, he was our first american import i think, and he played on the raptors summer league team a few years back. didnt make the cut though. He was the man, great shoot, hops, looked around 6'7, slasher. Played in the NBL like a Rashard Lewis type, but compared to the rest of the league, was more athletic than rashard would be to the NBA, the only thing he didnt do great was pass and handle the ball
Tue Sep 26, 2006 6:11 pm
i saw a dude from the south dragons workin out at my gym
Tue Sep 26, 2006 6:40 pm
firstly, this thread is effectively a year old. secondly, that post is completely off topic.
Tue Sep 26, 2006 8:23 pm
