pretty accurate except where is Marion? would he be under PF due to Amare's absense?

Thu Sep 07, 2006 9:13 pm

Yeah I suppose he would be, plus IMO a Lineup with Amare at Center and Marion at PF is pretty sweet anyway. Interesting read (Y)

Thu Sep 07, 2006 9:15 pm

dont forget diaw, actually it would be interesting to see how the Suns coaching staff make their lineup next season. Diaw at Center or Power Foward or Small Foward?

Thu Sep 07, 2006 9:20 pm

Ah yes I forgot about him, I think the SF could be great for him since he can play every f'ing position. I guess im a fan of seeing Marion play the 4 and would be a bit sad if he moved back to SF, not that it would make too much of a difference to his game.

Thu Sep 07, 2006 9:27 pm

considering that Marion is a better rebounder, he'll play PF....then again, he has the range and quickness to play SF. Who knows.

Two robbed MVP awards and one robbed All-NBA First Team appearance and a heck of a close NBA playoff series against the Eastern Conference contenders. Two-time all-star, consensus rookie of the year and one revived franchise later, LeBron may not only be the best small forward in the league, but perhaps its best player.

that's a very generous description to say the least.

yeah may be so but its not that far off. im sure whoever was number one theyd be gripes about this and that. there wont be a universal number one! and they never will be.

Fri Sep 08, 2006 8:11 am

I would switch positions in the list: Jefferson for Kirilenko

Fri Sep 08, 2006 8:21 am

Rashard Lewis should have been on the list.

Fri Sep 08, 2006 10:25 am

Nice, Melo made the top 4 (y)
Cervantes, Jefferson could be, but as long as VC is there he wont show everything he's got, so 7 is good enuf.

Fri Sep 08, 2006 11:35 am

If it wasn't for VC being in NJ, RJ would probably put up monster scoring numbers...enough to be an All-Star probably.

He's probably NJ's most consistent player, VC fails some days and shoots like 30-35%

Fri Sep 08, 2006 1:57 pm

Rashard Lewis should have been on the list.

As should Gerald Wallace, and knock off Jamison & Stojakovic.

Fri Sep 08, 2006 2:08 pm

This list is fucking ludacris. Where the fuck is Toni Kukoc?

Fri Sep 08, 2006 4:16 pm

lol wtf is up with this list

CBS's list was 100 X better then this POS

Fri Sep 08, 2006 6:18 pm

The list is a good one... Although Marion should be on the list if he was considered a SF... And LeBron James is likely the best player in the league. He still has some competition, but that will likely end in a season or two. James is still 20 and will only get better. The sky is the limit for him. I first doubted that he could live with the hype and not get caught in it, but after a few weeks of LeBron James in action in 2003, I was a believer.

Now about Phoenix lineup... Diaw is an intresting piece... Marion could very well slip to SF next season with Amare at center and Diaw at PF. The reasoning behind this could be that PHX already has an excellent playmaker in the back court in Nash and they might want to put Diaw's excellent distributing abilities smack in the middle of the offense. Marion would have a field trip with defenses worrying about Diaw or Nash putting up the great passes and Marion and Amare dunking it on everyone. I expect to see lots of open shots for Marion with this lineup. They will get the ball to Nash or Diaw and they will set up Amare or Marion to finish the plays... Phoenix will be the team to watch... They got so much potential to make any game a highlight reel that damn...

Guess whick I really wanted to write about

Fri Sep 08, 2006 6:23 pm

just think back to the days when Diaw couldnt get a minute on the hawks....

Sat Sep 09, 2006 2:36 am

1.) LeBron
2.) Paul Pierce
3.) Carmello Anthony
4.) Shawn Marion
5.) Tracy McGrady
6.) Ron Artest
7.) Andrei Kirilenko
8.) Richard Jefferson
9.) Rashard Lewis
10.) Tayshaun Prince
11.) Josh Howard
12.) Lamar Odom
13.) Gerald Wallace
14.) Caron Butler
15.) Peja Stojakovic)

(I think of Jamison and Al Harrington more as a power forwards or combo forwards. They don't count in this poll. If they did, I'd have Jamison 12 over Odom, and Al 13 over Gerald.)

Marion entered the league playing SF, and that's probably his best position. But when D'Antoni took over Marion played the 4, and last season with Amare out he split time between the 4 & 5.

It just makes his numbers even more mind blowing considering he's giving up that much height and size. If he went to a team that had a solid frontcourt, he would be completely dominant against other 3s.

Nice to see Ak47 make everyone's list...i like that the article acknowledged he may the most underrated player in the entire league.
