FBI investigating threats against Hurlbert

DENVER -- The FBI is investigating threats against the district attorney prosecuting Kobe Bryant, The Denver Post reported Saturday on its Web site.

Krista Flannigan, spokeswoman for District Attorney Mark Hurlbert, confirmed on Saturday that the threats were being investigated. The FBI did not return a call asking for comment Saturday morning.

"I wouldn't say threats (against the prosecutor) are common but it has happened in the past,'' Flannigan said.

Flannigan wouldn't comment on whether any threats had been made against the 19-year-old woman who alleges Bryant sexually assaulted her in Eagle County.

Nor would she say what precautions if any Hurlbert has taken. Visitors entering the office now must show identification and the door is locked, The Post said.

"It has been difficult for people to get their regular work done and accommodate the media, although I think they have a done a remarkable job,'' Flannigan said in a telephone interview.

I wonder why.. Yeah the article did not mentioned about the accuser getting threats but she has, or at least the girl that was said to be her. It's a damn shame, really it is

All that could've easily be posted in the Kobe Situation Summation thread , there are enough kobe threads .

That's just sad, that kind of behaviour. If there's one problem with the Internet, it's the way people can mask their identity, paving the way to say and do pretty much anything they want.

Yes it is sad, just because it's happening to "good old" Kobe Bryant; they blame the DA and the accuser Well the FBI is doing some investigating on this, so I'd say keep on threatening him/her. See what happens now when the police/FBI are on their trails.

If Kobe is innocent, there will be evidence to support that plea and he will not be punished. But there's a certain protocol that must be followed, no matter who you are. Mark Hurlbert has not singled Kobe out because he's a menace to teams like the Denver Nuggets - a serious claim has been made, so he must do his job. Naturally, his decision is not popular, but posting threats on a website is quite childish.

i think the chance of Kobe getting out free is getting less..
