Lets get real people, Rider's career didn't end because of his drug use. Most Nba players do weed but just never get caught. His main problem was that he couldn't get along with coaches, there's no way a player that talented would have been released over and over again if it was simply a problem with weed.

Isaiah Rider simply wore out his welcome. While Iverson has off-court problems and commitment/attitude problems of his own, on the court he plays with a lot of heart and for 48 minutes can put all distractions aside and play. If Rider could have proven himself as valuable to a team as Iverson does in Philly, then perhaps his life off the court would not have so much bearing over his career on it. No one is prepared to give him a chance, not even a team that is struggling or is looking for one more piece to the puzzle.

True. I remember when he was with the Lakers. Phil Jackson said that he was ready to give a starting job to Rider, but Rider was just preoccupied.(He was probably daydreaming or high)

I think rider was the denis rodman of the guards... no, he wasn't kicked out for smoking weed. I mean I read about stoudamire and wallace both adminitting to smoking weed and I don't see the being kicked out.

He was one pain in the ass always late for practice, sometimes doesn't show up, he just couldn't keep it together... He was with the blazers for a while and would have made a huge change if he stayed there, but, blazers needed to clear up salary cap room for scotty and detlef the next season, and his work ethic didn't justify the payload that he got.

I'm still hoping that he makes a comeback. He was poised to be one big star... but burnt out too quick.. kind of like hardaway, but penny's story is more heartbreaking as he didn't have a say in his fate...

He was in contention for rookie of the year beside penny and chris webber I remember that...

he was one heck of a player
