Which team do you think has the best commentator?
I know I'm a Raptors fan but besides that I think they have the best commentator in the league Chuck Swirsky. He put a lot of emotion in good plays and has awesome saying like
ARE YOU KIDDING ME
just picture him at a dunk competition.
His voice is awesome and he has awesome to say all the time.
I heard other commentators and they do not put nearly the emotion Chuck does, especially after Vince dunks it.

i like kevin harlan(sp). he's pretty good. he was great when he did the twovles & grizz game last year. especially the series when KG taunted Gasol to take him to hole, and he obliged plus he added a facial to top it off.
tommy heinson(sp), who does the boston games, is a homer but i like him too. walter!

I like Marv Albert but the GOAT is dead (Chick Hearn)
Thu Apr 10, 2003 3:40 am
he's not a play by play commentator , but for me it has to be Bill Walton. he tells it like it is. " throw it down big man! "
Thu Apr 10, 2003 5:16 am
lol, Bill Walton can also be pretty annoying.
Who agree's with me though that pretty much ALL of ESPN's commentator's stink? they put no emotion into their job's and sound so bland, especially Sean Elliot!
Bill Walton might be the only exception because he's funny sometimes, but other times is annoying.
TNT's commentator's are much better.
BTW alot of the time Radio broadcaster's are better than the TV announcer's
I think that's because they know they are not on TV and concentrate more on doing their job than looking good

I like the two guys of the Sonics : Kevin Calabro and Marques Johnson. They also do the NBA Insidedrive games
The two Boston guys are pretty good too : Tommy Heinhson and another guy. It used to be Bob Cousy too but he left and was replaced.

The only network broadcasting NBA games in Brazil is ESPN International. Most games are commentated by Sean Elliot (I really don't like the Brazilian commentators because they just stink!). I don't know if someone else thinks the same, but it seems that he is too much friendly to the other players... I never heard him saying a bad word about any player... It's always something like this: "Oh, he is incredible","When he gets his game going, it's hard to stop him..." and other stuff like these.

Silly Walton just make stupid comments and narrates the game as a fan of whoever who's playing. The only games I like to watch when he's getting the play by play is blazers game, Sheed Wallace never fouls anybody when he's a commentator.

At least they didn't choose Tim Hardaway to get those games. The problem with ESPN is the experience, this is the first time in about 15-20 years they have the opportunity to show those games, so they didn't have a lot to choose from but former players. Sunday's games on ABC suck as well, Tom Tolbert and that Tirico stink in every possible way. Hopefully that contract is ended before is supposed to & they get back to NBC & TBS, or at least they make a better decision getting good commentators.

I know they don't
actually do the games, but I like hearing what EJ, The Jet, and Charles have to say in the studio. They're so funny.

I have a Video of Iverson dunking a put back in Toronto in 1998 and Chuck Swirsky said something but the other guy was like "OH!!!!....Allen Iverson *chuckles*" Then chuck swirksy was like "Are you Kidding Me?" followed by "Thats a point guard Folks"

For humor's sake and the "Let's see what he'll say next" factor, I admittedly enjoy listening to Walton. He seems to have good rapport with Tom Tolbert, though they don't exactly share a cozy vibe. Nessler's pretty solid. Kevin Harlan's pretty good, and I liked seeing the Czar paired up with Van Gundy on TNT. And NBC had it right a few years ago, with Bob Costas calling the play-by-play and Doug Collins providing the analysis. No one did it better than Collins.

i personally like the guy from the clippers, he has creative catch phrases such as 'BINGO!!' everytime someone(piatkowski) hits a 3 pointer, and everytime someone does a crazy ass dunk he says 'oh me oh my!!!'...and is that wasnt good enough...back in the day, bill walton used to do the commentary with him, so it was pretty nice to hear 'throw it down!' and then the next play 'BINGO!'....classic stuff
Fri Jul 25, 2003 11:25 pm
The TNT announcers are the best especially Marv, JVG and the Czar. Brent Musburger i think is good when he covers on radio. I also like the former announcer for Dallas I think Jim Durham and Kevin Calaboro.

For some reason i really like when Tom Tolbert nd Bill Walton commentate together, they say some funny shit, and especially in blowout games, they still make it interesting lol. but thts just me lol, a lot of people dont like em.
i just like the way tom tolbert mocks some bad and goofy shots lol.
but my all-time is the GOAT who sadly passed away.................Chick wil be forever missed

I cant stand Bill Walton. The "throw it down whover" really does a good job of pissin me off. Especially after the finals when LA was there. Throw it down big man, throw it down.
I like marv myself.
And "with no regard for human life" i replay that every time i think of kobes double pump reverse against the NYK,
