Rape is a serious offense. I don't think Iverson has ever been accused of raping someone. If he gets convicted of rape, believe me you won't see him playing next year.

Iverson always gets in trouble and he is never suspended

The one criminal case against Iverson was last summer...and all charges were dropped. Most of the trouble he gets into revolves around rap CDs where he uses words like 'fag' and 'nigger' and missing practice....that's a little different than raping a girl...

i really think that kobe will be playing this season and i'm sure his lawyers will be able to get him out of jail time. this is america and america is run off of the american dollar. if you have enough american dollars, you can get away with anything. just like the juice.

I highly doubt rape charges will go away by throwing money at them. It would set a very unpopular (and quite frankly, morally bankrupt) double-standard.

"Hey kids! If you've enough money, you can get away with anything!"

I don't think that's the message the US legal system wants to be sending out. If Kobe is found guilty of rape, they're not going to give him a slap on the wrist or any special treatment because he happens to be a superstar basketball player.
