Da Full Story wrote:The Washington Wizards signed free agent forward Darius Songaila to a five-year, $23 million dollar deal, Songaila's agent, Mark Bartlestein, told ESPN.com.

Songaila's deal includes a player option for the fifth year of the contract.

I don't know if they really need him, but he's a solid young PF. I like his shooting ability and he's pretty smart too. Good deal for them. (Y)

itd be nice if a mod could sticky that thread, with someone constantly updating it on the first post.

back on topic, songalia is a semi-decent addition.

Songaila is a nice pickup for Wizards. The contract isn't too bad. They'll get some scoring down there from him, something they really lacked.

Didn't really expected that, Songaila had a great season with the Bulls.
Maybe they released because they got few more great big men...

I think this move is most important for Songalia. With all the players Chicago is bringing in he wouldnt draw much attention, if any in Chicago. Now he has a chance to become noticed, and he is still playing for a solid playoff team.

Yeah, good for him. He really paid his NBA dues in 05-06, he deserves this payday, will definitely see more time with the Wizards.

if "down" means in the post area, you are badly mistaken. Songalia is a "big" man who's shoots from the outside. he doesn't operate in the post because he's not strong enough, doesn't have the quickness/jumping ability to get around/jump over defenders
Jump.

In the article says that Pecherov will most likely return to Europe for another season.
