What do you mean by "crew"... The only staff member I know of that is Canadian is Jay Triano.

Parker played in the NBA before and has the athleticism/know how to play effectively in it. I'm pretty confident that he can contribute right away to the Raptors.

I might be wrong, but I could've sworn people said the same about Sarunas, especially since he came from Tel Aviv, one of the better teams in Europe.

They both played for the Tel Aviv, Parker was just MVP a lot more often and has actually played in the NBA. And the transition from Euro point guard or center to NBA point guard or center is a lot tougher than the transition for a shooting guard.

I'm fairly sure if Parker is going to be in the starting lineup, Bosh wont be at Centre, with Bargnani coming in as a sub. Rasho will most likely be the starting centre. Basically, this is the lineup im guessing will happen.

C-Rasho Nesterovic
PF-Chris Bosh
SF-Anthony Parker
SG-Morris Peterson
PG-TJ Ford

I put Mo-Pete at sg instead of sf and Anthony Parker vice versa because Peterson's better position seems to be SG and with the credit people are giving Parker, he probably has no problem at SF instead (Also cause I dont know ANYTHING about Anthony Parker other than the fact he hit the game winning shot against the Raptors in last year's preseason for Maccabi Tel Aviv). I'm open to have anyone explain to me that Parker will be more effective at sg instead of being SF.

He can play both, infact, he is so universal, he could actually play 3 positions if needed. He had a 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists average in the Euroleauge, his mentality is great, he likes sharing the ball and plays for the team. I think that an American player with European mentality with NBA skills and body could turn out as one of the best signings from the free agency this year.

WEll from what I understand, Parker's only 6' 5" at best, so I don't tihnk he would match up well against other 3s like Corey Maggette or Lebron or others who range from 6' 6" to 6' 10". I don't think he will be getting as many rebounds as he did in Europe.

true mo pete is taller..and besides this past season i see mo pete guarding the elite small forwards like lebron all the time..he can handle it..so yeah if parker is going to be in the lineup mo pete will probably be at sf.

I'm not bullying you at all. I'm just pointing something out. It's natural for people to do that, especially in a forum. Suck it up princess. :x

Now that little bit was more like bullying

I like Parker. I think he'll bring a lof experience and talent to the team.

Talent, YES, Experience? Not really!! He's probably not even NBA Ready!!

He's played in the NBA before. He knows how the NBA works.

That's why I said, Not Really. . .and the game has changed since 1997, drastically, with the rules and the way the game is played. It might favor him and it might not. A lot of people played in the NBA then head back to the CBA and Europe cause their not ready to play in the NBA.

I seen him play against the Raps last year before the season started, he's a good player IN EUROPE and overall, now he has to re-adjust to the NBA's style of play. He might make and impact right away, and he might not!! That's all I'm trying to say. But with getting all theses European players at the same time might have some chemistry advantages within themselves, but they still have to learn to play with the rest of the team, and I think that's gonna be hard for the 1st half of the season!!

Expect a similar start for the raps like last years

Nuff Said!!

Parker was in a press conference today, and Yeah he played in the NBA, but he didn't really play!! Now he has the opportunity to showcase his skills in the NBA cause now he has the opportunity. So even if he played in the NBA before, this will be the 1st time he has an opportunity to get a lot of minutes. Cause he couldn't get minutes in Philadelphia or Orlando! I never said he was a suck-ass player, I said he will need time to re-adjust to the NBA-style of play

Or Mo-Pete could play SG and defend the SFs, but most likely, it looks like Mo-Pete will be playing at SF, given his strength and height.

That's true, but when you said, "he will need time to re-adjust to the NBA-style of play," I don't think he needs more than a few games to re-adjust given he played in practices. He understands the NBA game, but as for performing well, that all depends on how well he can play in the NBA environment.

Edit:  Mofo, thanks for pointing out my mistake

Anyone without an NBA contract who has not been drafted in the previous three seasons (I think its 3) can be signed as a free agent. For players in Euroleagues, they usually have a contract there, so typically the NBA team signing them will have to buy out that contract. Thats why its harder to draft european playres in the draft, because sometimes their teams want a lot of money in exchange. Macjie Lampe a couple of years ago would have easily been a first round pick, possibly even a lottery pick, but his team in europe was demanding millions in retrn for the right to sign him, so he droppped to the second round.
