Yeah but if players like KG say they either want a player alongside them like Stephon or a trade, the management's usually going to either honor that trade or bring in someone similar.

Brown and Marbury feud is the main reason knicks arent good, as marbury is the star player. Or you can just trade marbury for first round draft and somebody OK because knicks cap room wow its like negative 40million or something
And you actually think Phoenix will trade a 2 time mvp, the perfect fit for their team, for marbury? You think Washington will trade their future for marbury? Keep dreaming son...

There are growing indications that the Knicks are ready to sever ties with Coach Larry Brown and replace him with Isiah Thomas, the team president. The franchise has apparently resolved to make the move, with only the details of when and how to be worked out.
Dolan is starting to make Sterling look normal. They paid so much for Larry Brown and now they shove him out sure he's not the best fit for that team but why put Isiah in his place. They should have done that last season when they saw that Isiah's managerial skills were measured in a negative scale.

Newsday - A person close to Larry Brown told Newsday that Golden State is a likely destination for the coach, should his days in New York end this off-season.
The Warriors are owned by Chris Cohan, a friend and neighbor of Brown's in East Hampton.
http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/ ... s_or_goes/USAToday - While the Knicks were silent on the report that came out over the weekend that James Dolan intends to buyout Larry Brown, Stephon Marbury was reached for comment.
"Based on our record, that's normal for anybody to have that speculation," the Knicks' point guard said of the reports.
"I wouldn't mind, it doesn't matter who coaches," said Marbury, who feuded with Brown throughout the season. "I don't care if Larry Brown comes back. I wouldn't mind at all."
"We have not commented on anything over the last two days," Barry Watkins, senior vice president of communications for Madison Square Garden, said Monday.

I've never really liked Brown....from his dislike of rookies to the way in which he conducts himself when he looks to ditch & run....finally, I think a little bit of karma has come back to bite him on the arse....

Just heard on new york 1 newstation that brown isn't being bought out...thank god.

If Isiah did replace Brown on the sidelines, maybe he could find a way to succeed seeing as though he's the one who assembled the current roster. Perhaps he alone knows how to make them into a cohesive unit and get the most out of it. And elsewhere, Steve Nash will become Defensive Player of the Year.
Or perhaps not.

I think Isiah will be as clueless as to any coach on how to get that team to win, maybe if they get a energized K-Mart the tables might turn but then again he could end up being half man half alley oop yet again. Getting Francis was just adding salt to the wound, you have to be a friggin idiot to not realise that a combo of two bad personalities that are at the same time your most talented/best players will end up screwing up your team on a whole. Its a shame though cause Isiah wasnt that bad a coach, but I doubt he has the skills in that department to make a winning team out of the mess that is the Knicks.

Andrew, the sad thing is if Isiah coaches the team and they win 30 games, Dolan will think that's an improvement. He'll never get rid Zeke if that happens.

Rick Adelman might want to come into New York....he made Artest shut up maybe he can go 2-0 and get Marbury to be obedient too.

Isiah coming back to the sidelines could be a positive for the Knicks. Brown clearly isn't the right man for the job. Although he not fully accountable for the Knicks poor season, he has a part in the blame. Sure, he's got players with bad attitudes and are the complete opposite of his former Detroit Pistons, but he also shouldn't complain about how bad his players are in the media. Things like that have got to stay in the locker room.

That means half the team has to go, including Starbury.

Brown should go, the media was reporting he had health problems and in the Knicks environment atm it is not wise to stay if he's not healthy. He tried his best but its time to take the 40 mil.

larry brown believe the knicks will just fire him
League insiders told ESPN.com that the Knicks, looking at things from a practical and financial standpoint, feel they'd be best served to cut their losses with Brown rather than undergo the type of large-scale roster overhaul that would be needed to placate him. In other words, why trade Stephon Marbury for less-than-star players whose contracts will carry huge luxury taxes when they can simply buy out Brown and move on with a new coach.

Jeffx would love to see that large-scale roster overhaul

Doctors say his liver or whatever if fixed. He had successful surgeries.

Not necessarily a bad idea. With Brown's health and nomadic tendencies, a complete overhaul that suits his needs might not be for the best unless it's a team that someone else can make something of once Brown resigns or is let go.
That said, the aversion to overhauling the roster full stop is extremely shortsighted and can't be to the benefit of the team at this juncture.

How many times have I said that about Knick management? It's been like this for 30+ years.

Jeffx, not sure if you know, but you've been elected to the hall of fame here at nlsc.

Yeah Matt, I read that a while ago. We've come a long way since the black & blue days of Tim & Lutz. It's STILL one of the best hoops sites on the net.
Amp, you're damn right about that roster overhaul. Instead of eating Brown's salary, eat the salaries of these losers who can't understand team basketball.
