It's not always just about stats. Iverson's been the face of the team for a while as Fitzy said and can carry them. The problem is he's starting to get old with a big contract. Plus, he's known as a big ballhog which hurts the team.
Webber on the other hand has the knee problem, decline in his defensive, post, and overall game. Plus the huge contract. I say they get rid of both.

It's an obvious choice. Webber should be going. The guy's playing on one leg and as VanK said, he's a huge liabilty on defense. He's obviously not the same player as he was in Sacramento. Iverson is the face of the franchaise, he's averaging a career high 33 a game and he's basically the reason the Sixers were in many of the games this season. Sure, they mediocre at the best with Iverson, but if Iverson's gone...they're headed to the lottery for the next 5 years.

Philly wouldn't sell tickets with Webber as the face of their franchise.

I'd probably say both, nobody they put around AI works for him except for the one year they went to the finals.

huh? If anything, AI's the one whos always been shouldering the team throughout all of these years without getting any legitimate second fiddle.

I think people are forgetting that Webber has a bigger contract than Iverson, for some reason.

Webber is making 17mil+ while Iverson is making 14mil+.

Wait about two or three years before trading Iverson for a top draft pick. He's still productive right now and they've got a chance to ship out webber and get someone good to help him out.

I don't think any of them it's the problem. The players around them suck. I'd say Ollie has to go. Or Webber.

Oh hey, i just remember, how about trading K-mart with C-webb??? :D :D

Why didn't you go the big quintuple post?

Sorry for the multiple posting. I don't know how to delete it so i've edited it.

To carmo, it wasnt my fault, i only posted once and the server was very slow and the page cant even loaded. I didnt re-post it again but for unknown reasons it just posted itself 3 times. It was not my fault.

Sixers may be tempted to trade AI sometime but i guess they just can't. C-Webb's gotta go out. Gone are those Big Bad Wolf ol'days. All AI need for his team to go all the way is a legitimate center who can also make big shots :x .

If that's reason enough to ship one of them out of town, shouldn't it be Webber since he's actually older and has a larger contract?

At this point, I don't think either of them absolutely needs to go, even with the disappointing end to the Sixers' season and the slight drama with both of them showing up late at the end there. GMs are so caught up in making sweeping changes when things don't work out that they don't even consider other options that don't involve trading away their best players. I'm not suggesting the Sixers can become serious title contenders with a couple of moves but it's worth exploring what else can be done to move forward.

no way philly can afford trading iverson. he is the franchise player, the player they have build the team around. to keep cwebb over him is insane because webber's arrival didn't give sixers the production they needed.
but imagine philadelphia without iverson? like lakers without kobe. no way, it would never work... unless they got kobe

I just realized this, damn you Nick! I voted for Webber, but I also thought we were choosing which one should be going.

Tue Apr 25, 2006 9:34 am

I'd send both packing if i was the GM. Start building talent around Iggy.

Tue Apr 25, 2006 10:14 am

I know it's almost surely not going to happen but imagine a fast scorer like Iverson in Phoenix. He'd be perfect for the system, running quickly and shooting. His career's been pulled down by lack of success around him lately, same as KG. For him he needs to get traded, and KG should try to get Stephon Marbury back.

I thought it said who should go. Discount a C-Webb vote. :?

webber has to go

ai is the type of player can't trade away because he is like lebron james type of player who sell out every home game

i also agree billy king needs to go.2 years without playoffs is just a no no especially with 2 star players

Well, not really. The Sixers home attendance is the 3rd worst in the League or something like that (N)

There have been a lot of rumors in Minnesota about the Timberwolves trying to get Allen Iverson (or Stephon Marbury) to pair up with Kevin Garnett. That would be sick to see AI/KG on a team up north but I doubt it happens. What do we have to offer? The trade would have to include a package like Trenton Hassell, Ricky Davis and Eddie Griffin. I doubt Philly bites.

I don't want to see AI in other uniforms, same with KG. I just can't imagine. AI is a Philly forever, and KG, a Wolf forever...wait, trading KG to the Sixers is a cool idea! His team is no good anyway, even before when he's with Starbury. They got to the playoffs but they got swept in the 1st rd, remember?

OK... back to the poll.
