as the article mentions....
The addition of Stoudemire would be a phenomenal lift for the Suns, who already are en route to their second straight Pacific Division title with a 45-21 record but could use a boost in anticipation of potential postseason showdowns with San Antonio or Dallas, the top teams in the Western Conference.
i'm with the camp that says his return will be a good thing for the Suns

I love Karl Malone v2.0 as much as the next guy...and I'd like to see him come back and play well...but I think the ESPN guys and others need to just remember...Chris Webber, 2004.
I'm just saying. If he's not the old super efficient Amare, don't go giving him 25 possessions a game at the expense of your league leading offense. Hopefully D'Antoni knows better than Adelman did.

Amare is pretty young and I dont think we have seen the best out of him so I dont worry about that much.

I still say the reward outweigh the risk. It's not as though the Suns have abandoned last year's gameplan and now play stall-ball. I think health will be the only real roadblock and if he's right to go, I don't see his return hurting the Suns' chemistry.

Bad idea only because I think he should keep resting until he is 100%. I mean would you rather risk him getting hurt again? I don't see the Suns winning a championship this year anyway even though they are contenders, but I just don't see them winning it this year.

If he injures that knee again PHX is fucked for the rest of the decade, but i hope he comes back and dunks on many.

Yeah, I'm cautious, and I'm sure they'll shut him down if it's not going to work. They aren't as dumb as Sacramento was. But because they still run and stuff is what concerns me, if Amare isn't back to full strength, he could hamper the team by clogging up the offense like Webber did.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I hope Phoenix isn't drinking the Kool-Aid ESPN is pushing on me declaring the Suns the favorites to win it all now. If they just plug Amare in and feed him 25 possessions a game it could destroy their offense if he's not yet ready.

they really need him back, phoenix has been getting absolutely raped on the boards lately

Yeah it would be good to have him back. They can use the rest of the season to prepare Amare and their team for the playoffs. Unless a miracle happens, they're not gonna catch San Antonio or Dallas. The Clippers might also have a hard time in taking the Pacific Division title away from the suns.

This is a good thing for the suns.He will be in good form for the playoffs, they need him badly there.

He's my favorite player but I'm worried about a potential risk of re-injury. I hope he's serious about being 100% when he comes back, and I hope he won't be given too many minutes until he's fully ready.
If he's effective, then look out for the Suns come playoff time

Oh come on... every game he plays for the rest of his career he could reinjure his knee. He has to comeback eventually, and unless he gets in-game work out, his knee will never be as strong as it was. He will probably start out playing 20 mpg, and slowly working up from there the same way the Clippers did Maggette. I seriously doubt they will do anything to risk his knee further.
