Actually, "historicly" speaking, he's not :) . Just a statemant. Now back on topic, I watch Darko thread better. To be honset, I don't find worth it to spend 10+ mins, on loading Bogut/Yao threads, each.

He was born in Australia, raised in Australia by parents who are Australian citizens, plays basketball for Australia and has "Australian" on his birth certificate. So "historically" you can suck my Australian dick :) just a statement.

Legally he is Australian. Ethnically he isn't.

Not that it matters... I've only seen him play well in the Rookie/Sophomore game.

wow.. been a while since i even watched NBA at all.

Andrew Bogut was born in Australia. Hence making him Australian. His parents are from Croatia.

me and bogut have something in common!! OMG IM A LAMER VERSION OF BOGUT

So that makes him 100% Australian and your half Aussie half Croat? Makes sence to me. "Legally he is Australian. Ethnically he isn't". (Y) .

lpasso don't post until you can construct a legible sentence, seriously. They might tolerate it at .org but personally I don't want to read that illiterate garbage.

Legally he is Australian. Ethnically he isn't.

What does that make you ethnically? You can't be "American" since there's no such thing as American, if you're white you're a descendant of some European country. I'm not Austrailan because the only actual Australians are Aboriginal, yet I still call myself an Australian...

Tue Mar 21, 2006 5:11 pm

just because Bogut loves his heritage, he's still going to be playing for the Australian National Team....if he loved his heritage so much he'd be playing for Croatia, not Australia....

Australia is a melting pot so all different ethnicities come under the term 'Australian', as is the case in the US as well

as for myself, I was born in New Zealand which makes me a Kiwi/New Zealander....I'm white which makes me a pakeha or caucasian....I've lived half my life in Australia & am an Australian citizen, which makes me an Aussie/Australian....my dad is Scottish & most of my family one or two generations back are Scottish (& a little English, but I'll forget that part)....does that make me Scottish?!? no it doesn't....it does however make me proud of my Scottish heritage (see Braveheart pic etc for proof)....

enough said....

Obviously most of the people here is missing my point. Never mind.

So that makes him 100% Australian and your half Aussie half Croat?

I consider myself an Australian. I hate that half this half that talk, shits me. I am an Aussie. With Croatian Parents

I did...

Darko.....

but, this Bogut discussion has already been done.

If you have citizenship in a country you are of that country. Historically Bogut has always been an Australian citizen and what the hell is with this historically crap? Just because he has Crotian heritage doesn't mean that "historically" he isn't Australian.
