I would have liked to see Penny get back on track, especially if its in Orlando. Hardaway's a washed up bum now and his chances of making a team are probably slim to none now.

The guy is just too fragile, it's not like he's healthy & too lazy to play (like Vin Baker). I would say it's rare to find someone who can handle the NBA schedule and pounding of NBA defense on their body. The fact that a person can play in the NBA at all is worthy of some respect.

isn't he still working out somewhere in Houston?

He is in Houston working out and recovering. His agent believes he'll sign with an NBA team when he's "fully" healthy. He has the skills, but we'll see if he's physically able. Only a matter of time.

Kobe wouldn't pass it to him anyways.

For a while there (his last couple of seasons in Phoenix and when he first got to New York) when he was getting good minutes after getting reasonably healthy it looked as though he could settle into being a good role player. I don't think we'll see a one year revival a la Grant Hill (good to see him back in the starting lineup, too) but I hope we haven't seen the last of him.

Too many players who came along during that era faded abruptly or ended their careers in less than dignified fashion.
