So?

Yeah good response...
Steve Francis is not the soul reason for this. He contributed, but Orlando simply improved their roster. Although they swapped Tracy McGrady for Steve Francis, they...

Of course they took place, but you're saying that Francis is a cancer regardless! If he was such a cancer, wouldnt he have still made the Magic worse?
Except that Francis overly holds the ball to a point where it is inefficient. And Reggie Miller, Shawn Marion, etc could hold the ball for 2 seconds and be fantastic.

You have to be kidding. Francis played his best basketball alongisde yao and cuttino mobley. Now they are guys who also need the ball in their hands, and he was accomidating to their play as well. From what Ive seen, Francis does pass, cut, reverse the ball and penetrates into the lane.. hmm it feels like ive said this before...
Well, they are already in salary cap hell. To solve the problem, you should trade for expiring contracts. The problem wont go away overnight, but it is atleast worth chipping away at the burden. Instead, they trade their best expiring contract away for a player with a contract near-size and no garuntee of clear advantage in winning now/winning later

WHo is willing to part with an expiring contract for anyone on the knicks team? No one.. except for Frye, but that wont do the knicks any good. Also their draft pick is chicago's this year, so tanking the season wont work either. They need to improve, and the only way right now is by trades.

It just doesn't make sense to me.

Nothing does.

Yeah good response...

I sense sarcasm. But actually, i really didn't understand why i would have to reply to your post when stating my opinion on the trade. Honestly, tell me why? :o
They need to improve, and the only way right now is by trades.

That's the thing. Why NY will never improve is because they will never be able to stop and start again. Rebuilding is not an option for them. They have this act now attitude of "Lets get starz!" So they went and got yet another overpayed hog. A move in which i don't agree with.

Anyways, i thought it was a good discussion until you went and said...

Isiah must think he's playing NBA Live or something....little does he understand that a team needs more than talent to win....but you would expect with a payroll that big, they'd be at least as good as the 2000 Trailblazers....

as Jugs & Matthew said, Ariza is overrated....however, it was good for the Magic to cut Francis loose....they lost out talent-wise, but ahh well, they did it for the cap space I guess....too bad they couldn't get a draft pick as well, although knowing Isiah, they probably don't have any left....

let's compare the Knicks' lineups in their heydays against now:

C- Ewing vs Curry
PF- Oakley vs Frye
SF- Charles Smith (who was really a PF playing out of position) vs Rose
SG- Starks vs Francis
PG- Derek Harper/Mark Jackson vs Marbury

Nick, is there a reason you quote more of my "insults" and "sarcasim" lines than my nba ones? Maybe you don't have an answer to what I'm saying...

"go quote someone else"
haha.. pathetic.

X, comparing the knicks "heydays" is a bit silly. Its like comapring the bulls last year to the mj bulls.

Aye? I'm not gonna go write a novel. My replies would be repeating myself to you. I have my opinion. You have yours. We disagreed. I think we're done.

The only comments i had left to say were on your below-the-belt one liners. Which i was suprised to see from you.

haha.. pathetic.

Gawd. Righto.

I thought we were cool, but i guess not.

Well I heard about it this mourning when I was in my cabbin of my ship. I was just about to leave but then sports center came on. Then I heard the trade.

I think talent wise the Magic got fucked, but by love of the team the Magic got a better deal.

Atleast the Knicks got rid of that dick Penny. He missed like 600 games lol.

Matthew, the comparison isn't fair, but I was just trying to show that $$$'s doesn't always equal wins....that's all

If you see Crawford play , then you know why we don't like him . He is a turnover machine , and doesn't perform well down the stretch. Takes plenty of stupid shots , and is not dependable down the strech. Maybe he is good to take "the shot" ( lucky 3 or something ) but is not a good playmaker when the clock is running down. Thats why Knicks fans hate Jamal...

Exactly! (Y)

Perfect answer. (Y) (Y)

How come the knicks fans dont like crawford?

Cause he flat out sucks. He's not a basketball player. He doesn't know the game. Yeah he's an athlete, but he's not a basketball player. His basetball IQ'd be 0.

He has horrible shot selection and he turns the ball over or takes horrible shots in clutch situations. And he can't defend to save his life.

No of course not, and I agree. But the knicks were already overspending before this trade, and had been ever since they traded ewing. This trade cant really hurt them.

I definitely agree, that the trade doesn't hurt them talent-wise....it should result in more W's....but I just thought the Knicks, with all the expiring contracts they had, they would have done something different & better....they have talent & some pieces, but it still doesn't make them anymore attractive....ahh well, I have faith that once Isiah Thomas is fired, the next GM, with all the talented pieces, can move some of them, cut some of them, find some role players & have themselves a team....

Talent wise, its a better trade for New York, but I don't see the point in making this trade. Not only are Crawford, Marbury and Robinson locked in long term but they traded Hardaway's expiring contract for another long one. Way to go Isiah. We love you.
