i think the selections were good with exception of ray allen, which was decent. can't complain. i wouldve liked to see melo there, but the west forwards are stacked.

I pray to Mahammed that Flip doesnt have his players dominate all the minutes on the court.

he's gonna use a 8 man rotation....perhaps if it's a blow out Carter, Bosh & Pierce will see some time :P

East Reserves
G Chauncey Billups - Ok, he's having a great season.
G Rip Hamilton - Same for Rip Hamilton.
F Rasheed Wallace - Don't know why he's in. Howard would be better so far.
F Paul Peirce - Can't argue against
F Chris Bosh - Great decision, I hope he's going to start instead of Jermaine.
F Vince Carter - It would've been a disappointment if he had not been named.
C Ben Wallace - Good pick too...

The Eas hast a great bench with players for each position. Overall good picks.

West Reserves:

G Ray Allen - Bibby would have been the better choice.
G Tony Parker - Top pick, he's playing awesome this year.
F Elton Brand - Great, he deserves it for sure.
F Kevin Garnett - Not sure about him, hes great but I'd rather pick Melo
F Shawn Marion - Good choice
F Dirk Nowitzki - Same for Dirk
C Pau Gasol - Gasol as Forward and picking Camby as Backup C would be my choices.

Too Many PF's on the Team. Bibby should be on the Roster for sure. Maybe Melo instead of KG.

Why are so many people down on KG? Is 22ppg, 11.4rpg and 4.5apg not good enough? What about him shooting 53% from the field? What about him leading the league in efficency rating? He is fourth in the league in double doubles with 34. People say he is having such a bad year, but he isn't. In fact, this might be one of his best seasons, ever. And people are saying his team is doing bad so he shouldn't be in it. What about Mike Bibby? Ray Allen? Paul Pierce? Chris Bosh? I mean, hold everyone to the same standard. Don't use the record agrument on KG but then go ahead and use the statistical agrument on Chris Bosh.

PISTONS TAKE ON THE WEST!!!!!!!

Saunders said he will play all four together.

"It's only fitting that the first time those guys step on the floor, they step on the floor together," Saunders said

this should be entertaining, It'll also give the Pistons a look at how they'd look with Carter/LeBron/Pierce instead of Prince :P

This would surely mean that Bosh starts, and fittingly so.

Wow. Most of the west reserves are forwards and most of the east reserves are pistons...

I think Melo should have taken it in the West instead of Ray Allen and Jason Kidd or Gilbert Arenas instead of Paul Pierce. And give one of them or Dwight Howard JO's spot, but bump Sheed to starter.

I don't have a problem with Pau making it.

KG is in the ASG as he deserves to be.

If we're beefing why he's not a starter, the starters are voted by the viewers, and how are they gonna know who KG is? Viewers know:
1. Players in the Finals & other series which get national coverage
2. Players on their home team which get local TV coverage

Basically, the only people who would vote KG in are Minny fans, and Minny ain't a big city or state.

Exceptions are players like LeBron who have marketing machines behind them like Nike, and while KG is an Adidas athlete, McGrady has really dominated the Adidas ads lately, not KG.

gilbert arenas is in. hurray. at least it wasn't tayshaun prince

Sat Feb 11, 2006 5:10 am

no objections to that, although i would have prefered Kidd.

Sat Feb 11, 2006 6:27 am

For me no one should question KG as an all star....he alone has taken a franchise from nothing to (almost) the NBA finals....and today is as great as usual. He's having a great year even if everyone is talking about the possibility of a trade taking him away from Minny.
I also think that it's a good thing that the Pistons have 4 men in the East....they're havig a great year and Big Ben is the Def MVP, Billups is the MVP of two years ago finals, Rasheed is one of the best players in the league (tell me another one that can put pressure on Tim Duncan when defending 1-1), and Rip is one of the most underrated player of the entire league. I don't think you can decide who's best only from numbers...basketball is a team-game....that's why KG doesn't have a ring.... :x

yeh i don't know why people would be down on KG? i guess maybe since he's set such a high standard of play people think less of him if he doesn't match all of his numbers :|

on a side note, they should rename the game to Pistons & friends vs West :P

Sat Feb 11, 2006 6:22 pm

I think they were fair with the Eastern Confrence by not letting Prince on

I liked the West, too
