Further proof that the Lakers are not a contender

Tonight Kobe has 49 points and the 3rd quarter isn't up yet the Lakers are losing the the Raptors. This only further proves that they aren't a contender despite those who have suddenly jumped on the Kobe bandwagon. Even if the Lakers do come back to win this game, it will take Kobe scoring at least 60... if he has to score that much to beat the Raptors, I can only imagine him trying to score that many against a team like the Spurs or the Pistons.

It doesn't matter if they win. There's no way in hell he could score this many points against a decent defender like Bowen or Tayshaun Prince. I only say it because some people seem to think they're contenders..

Why would he try to score 81 points against Bowen or Prince? I'm sure he'd still put up 30 and find other ways to contribute. Nothing he does against the Spurs or the Pistons will really matter, those teams are just flat out better.

regardless of hatred towards the lakers you have to be in complete awe of what he has done. There have been other ballhog-type players like Allen Iverson and they never did what Kobe did. That's why I think Kobe Bryant is MVP this year...if you put up 62 points and 81 points in about 33 days you are simply not human. Is Kobe Bryant a robot?

Yep exactly. Iverson's career high shot attempts is 42... 4 short of what Kobe took for his 81, yet Iverson's career high is 60 and that wasn't even in the same game as his 42 shot game. Jordan's career high is 49, yet his career high points scored is 69... yet again, not even in the same game.

Any fool with a headband can launch 40+ shots but that doesn't mean they're going to do what Kobe's done.

Not that MJ and Iverson are fools... I'm sure some deluded European will misinterpret that

lol i remember that dunk contest...i think birdman attempted like 16 or so dunks before finally nailing it. i think it was the one where he threw it from the halfcourt area and chased it down.
