Is shaq ever gonna be a 20-10 statistical player again?!!?

Do u ppl here think that shaq is no longer a 20-10 player?!? is he over the hill and should not be given the ball in the low post in crunch time??!?!? i think he's still dominent myself but what do u think?

Maybe 18 and 10, or 21 and 8, but I can't see a 20-10 anymore for some reason

He never was to be given the ball in crunch-time in the first place... Never learned how to shoot them free throws... :lol:

Seriously, if he is injury free and does not decide to coast through the regular seasons to preserve himself for the playoffs, he is more than capable of racking up a 20-10. But I think he'll be taking it easy from now on...

On topic: I think this over-the-hill, 50-pounds-overweight Shaq can't do it anymore. He is double teamed more because of his reputation, not because of actual domination. He averaged that last year, when he was much leaner and had less offensive weapons surrounding him. This year, when he was already out of shape at the beginning of the season, after a month of resting his ankle (does anybody believe that he actually does some aerobical excercises for the time of the injury?) and with Walker/Chocolate controlling the ball, I don't see him do it.

i said yes, but it will probly be either 25-7 each match, or 16-12
average out to around 20 and 10, depending on his injuries i guess

Can he? Easily. He's still one of the most dominant players in the league. The guy's a beast. Overweight? He's in better shape than he was with the Lakers.

But will he? Possibly. He doesn't need to. He's handed the team to Dwayne Wade who's also a top ten player in the league.

Shaq's not over-the-hill. He can put up stats if you ask him to, but there are better, easier ways to win. And Shaq knows that if he'll get less touches because of this, he'd probably be happy to step aside and lift some of this weight off his shoulders.

Assuming he's healthy this year, I'll say he'll be back up to 20-10 once gets back (or close to it).

Of course he can still do it. He has never not done it in his career. You cant base your judgement on 2 games played this year. So definately yes, but he doesnt need to get as many rebounds with an already extremely gifted rebounding team in haslem, posey, walker, and even wade gets over 7 rebounds, so shaqs role is smaller, but watch him in the playoffs to erupt.

yes as some people said, shaq can do it if he needs to but doesn't need to cuz he got all the help, averaging 20 and 10 won't help as much if you dont have supporting cast but now he has a lot, he can do less and still win, his prescense alone down there will change the way people defend the heat....

My thoughts, exactly. I still love his Godfather quote when comparing Penny to Fredo, Kobe to Sonny and Wade to Michael Corleone, He said how he felt fine about putting the "family" in Wade's hands.

I expect him to play off his teammates and taking over when the need will be there (playoffs, or on brick-laying nights).
