NEW YORK, N.Y., April 23 -- Ben Wallace of the Detroit Pistons was named the 2002-03 Defensive Player of the Year, marking the second consecutive season he has earned the award, the NBA announced Wednesday. here's the link http://www.nba.com/news/wallace_030423.html i hope he gets it in the next year too.
I hope GP can get All Defensive team, because that would give him the record. He's tied for it now with MJ but this would make him the only one with 10. He doesn't average a lot of steals anymore but I think that he's still one of the best.
as much as i would like to see him get it, i don't think payton will get it this year. i think it's evident he's not the defender he was back in his seattle days
i would like to see snow make the all D team...
i think KG, artest, and wallace all deserved to win the award. i think KG is the best all around defender in the league. artest is the best guard&sf defender, and big ben is the best interior defender.
a couple of articles I've read suggested that Ron Artest is a better one on one defender than Big ass lips Ben. Apparently Wallace doesn't strike fear into the hearts of defenders like he did last year, and Artest does. Apparently, he won it again as a result of reputation.
