Looks like he may remain a Phoenix Sun.
(Sorry if this is being discusseed in another topic, but I didn't see one)

Guess the Suns will match it then. So much for a whole lot of cap space making for a great offseason, Atlanta's front office is a shambles. They better hope their young players get really good really quick because few free agents are going to jump at a franchise with so much internal turmoil...especially if there are just as lucractive deals to be signed elsewhere.

Vegas, anyone?

So long as it's the same suits in charge, it won't matter where they are. Seems if they could get rid of Belkin things would be much more harmonious.

I gotta feeling that if they do get Joey Joe Joe back, they will at ALL costs try and trade Marion.....
I dont know who to, but sources said it before but then the talks stopped Johnson was 'going' to ATL.
Now that hes stayin those talks might come back up again.....

Its a gud news for a Suns fan..They need JJ so much..Thats why Nash became MVP because everytime he passed the ball to their shooter, swiiiishhh....
Wed Aug 10, 2005 9:47 pm
....and also the fact that every time he drove he could either lay it up, or find amare for the slam because of his great passing skills.....

I don't buy that it's Belkin who's causing all the rouble by himself... He is exercising his business rights, after all.... Problem with the Hawks is, the Atlantans seemly do not care that much about their basketball team, since they have Vick and the Falcons to root for... and the Braves... heck, even the Thrashers get more people in the rink...

A move to a huge new market would rejuvenate the franchise.

Yeah thats why Phoenix was a contender last season...When they giv up Q-Rich I taught its gonna the end of their dreams..

You may be right, we may only be hearing half of the story. But from what we've been told he does seem to be the one standing in the way of progress and alienating the rest of the ownership and front office.

Only knowing "konnichiwa" doesn't make you an expert at the language
Anyways, if Joe Johnson is staying in Phoenix, this would be good for the team's chemistry, keeping intact. Maybe they should trade Marion, maybe not....
Atlanta moving to Vegas, Viva Las Hawks

Trading Marion??U r crazy man he is a great rebouder on the team..Also loves to run thats phoenix basketball is all about jugz...Oh wat a name,,, jugz....

The Suns basically got all the pieces they needed to compete for the title. Last season, they went on to the West finals. This season, they added Thomas and Bell, which should strengthen their bench. And if Johnson play for the Suns this season, the Suns are going to be tough to beat, at least the Suns always have a good PG on the floor, either Nash or Johnson. Barbosa, he only comes in when Nash is in foul trouble early. As for trading Marion, I would not do that. Suns are a team that score a lot of points on fast break as Nash gives the Suns a high and up tempo offence. Also, Mike likes his team to be small. Now, lets just hope Johnson play for the Suns this season.

Hey Kemp40,,,u r a genius thats what im talkin about...

but if joe doesn't get his request, gets overpaid which he will either way, does that mean he won't play to his best knowing he is the 4th wheel? He knows he won't shine like he would in Atlanta, so might as well take it easy..
Thu Aug 11, 2005 12:14 pm
I dunno, I still think theres room to move, if Joey's gonna be bitching all year its best he is traded, if Atlanta's where he wants to go they should work a deal. I think a better fit for Pheonix would be Al Harrington + a 1st round pick. That'll give Pheonix a strong frontcourt with Amare/Harrington/Marion
Thu Aug 11, 2005 1:58 pm
Someone said it will help the chemistry, I'm not sure about that. Aren't they basically forcing JJ to stay now? It didn't seem like he was willing to go back, and he had complained about being the 4th wheel on the team behind Amare, Nash and Marion.
Thu Aug 11, 2005 2:55 pm
Bringing back JJ to the suns would cost the team a lot in the future. If JJ comes back with that FAT contract, the suns will have 3-max contract players. These contracts might affect the pending extension of amare who is ready for a 100mn contract. If i were the suns they should deal JJ coz imo he isnt worthy of that contract.

Apparently David Stern has now
entered the fray, endorsing the other two thirds of the Hawks' ownership in their quest to oust Belkin. Seems the trade could go through after all.
