To tell you the truth, I really like Sam Mitchell.

Let's not pay attention to how the Raptors are playing right now, but he's a guy who's not afraid to pull anyone of the court or start anyone on the bench.

He doesn't care if you're a star or a third-stringer, he treats everybody the same way, on and off the court.

Then there's also Jerry Sloan, he is also a very tough coach who demands that everybody plays disciplined, the PG runs the plays and everyone hustles and works together.

Now I know all coaches have different methods of coaching, some coaches are more serious (Jerry Sloan), and some believe in having fun at the same time (Lawrence Frank).

As for Rick Carlisle being the best coach in the NBA, I would have to agree he is either the best or one of the best, it all depends on whether you look at stats, or just the way he coaches. But either way, I think he is one of the best in the NBA.

Rick Carlisle's record speaks for itself. He's had the players to work and he's got the job done, which is noteworthy as there always seems to be at least one team that has the talent to do reasonably well but doesn't; you can't say of that Carlisle's teams. He deserves a lot of credit for the job he did last season despite all the injuries and suspensions.

He succeeds because he's not only good with the "x's & o's", his players seem to like and respect him; he can handle situations on and off the court. It's hard to go wrong with a coach like that. I would say he's definitely one of the best coaches in the league right now.

Using COTY points is just a veiled logical fallacy (Appeal to Popularity and Appeal to Authority. Just because people SAY something is so doesn't necessarily make it so.)

Of course, there isn't much use arguing with Indy on this, as we're all allowed to like our various teams. But I will ask this...

Was Rick Carlisle the best coach in the league BEFORE he was with the Pacers? Did you think he was before then? Was he better than Isiah Thomas at that point? Would you have admitted to it?

No, he wasn't because he hadn't done the things he's done with the Pacers yet. The only thing he hasn't accomplished is win a title, but he's damn close.

Are you kidding me?? Please don't bring back Isiah Thomas memories... he was the worst coach the Pacers have ever had. I would have punched him in the face at that time had I gotten the chance...

God, I hated Isiah Thomas.

Well, now that the Pacers have added Danny Granger and Sarunas to their core, will Carlisle lead them to a championship? Will you consider them underachievers if they don't?

I wouldn't consider Danny or Saras part of the core, they haven't even taken a step on an NBA court yet, that's unfair to them.

If we don't win a championship this season (barring injuries or suspensions), then yes, I would say the season is a complete failure, and the core needs to be looked at, changes need to be made.

Obviously if we take the Spurs or whoever comes out of the West 7 games, and lose in double overtime I'll be less harsh.

That said, this season is all or nothing.

Don't get him started. Yet I still think either the Heat or the Pistons will come out of the east this season.

If Phil Jackson is the teacher type of coach then I think he's f*ck*ng screwed with the Lakers now. The trade is official, they're getting Kwane Brown and some other dude for Caron Butler and company

Now I asked myself why did I move to LA?? I should've stayed in Texas (Y)
