"NBA's Trade Value List"-from ESPN

interesting article...

Group C: "Let Me Save You Some Time: N-O."
10. Dwight Howard – The man-child. For everyone wondering where the great centers have gone, just wait until you see this guy in three years. Remember, everyone thought Young Moses Malone was a power forward in the mid-70's. Things change.

-ive never really taken notice to howard... and he hasnt been all that pulbicized; so @ #10 its kinda puzzling for me. is he that good of a post player?

1. Tim Duncan – Actually, I'm sure. Tim Duncan is retiring as a Spur.

-ya, id say so too

Howard is more about raw athleticism. If the reports are true and he does grow to 7' 1", he'll be one of the most athletic Centers in the NBA second to Amare (who is arguably a PF, not C).

Are his actual post skills refined? I'd say no...but Garnett does pretty well having never really defined his either, ditto David Robinson.

The question is whether or not he'll continue to show as much improvement, is he capped or is he like LeBron, the rookie year is only the beginning.

It's not about how good he is right now, it's about how good he can become. The guy is straight out of high school and not yet 20, yet he's #8 in RPG, #19 in BPG, #10 in FG%, and #12 in double-doubles. Those numbers aren't that far behind ROTY Okafor, who's over 3 years older (and played on a crappier team).

He's so high in the list of untradables because when you've got a guy who's done that much that early, and is still growing, you'd be mad to not take a punt he'll keep developing and getting better at scoring in the next couple of years.

Even if KG demands a trade he won't be traded.

Kobe Bryant – We know Kobe hates Phil. We know Phil hates Kobe to the point that his entire book contained more Kobe-related potshots than an entire year of Peter Vescey columns. We also know that Phil is getting $30 million over the next three years to coach the Lakers. So what makes you think that the Lakers are keeping Kobe? I think they promised Phil that, if he came back, they would give him one last chance to make it work with Kobe … and if it wasn't working, they would quickly shop Kobe around and try to recoup 75-80 percent of his value back. And that Bynum pick played into everything – if they do end up rebuilding, they will already have one piece in place. So stay tuned.

What an idiot. Kobe cannot be traded unless he wants to be traded, he has a no-trade clause in his contract.

And I never thought I would use the words "Eddy Curry" and "unstoppable" unless a buffet table was involved

players with the no trade clause are always talked into trades, its not that hard really.

^^not that hard? The lakers didnt get equal value for Shaq because Shaq didnt want to give the lakers equal value.

"More important, does anyone else keep waiting for Wallace to look into the camera, tilt his head, unleash one of those Eddie Murphy smiles and sing, "Unce … tice … fee times … a mady … "

LOL !

actually it was the lakers own fault for not getting enough in return for shaq. they had a rather sweet deal set up with dallas but did not want to leave shaq in the west so they took what they could get from out east.

^^they could've had a sweeter deal from the clips but Shaq didnt want to go to the clippers.

Fri Jul 08, 2005 12:19 pm

yeah shaq did have his say but he was willing to do dallas its just that the lakers were worried about shaq coming back to haunt them, lol guess it dont matter now since they cant even make the playoffs without him.
