18 teams didnt pass on green.....seeing how teams like the bobcats and raps had two picks..

I'll tell you why teams were high on him to start the draft, he's a scorer. Sure he was playing against high school turds, but he has a smooth jump shot and knows how to drive and get to the line. If he ever learns how to play even average defense, which seems likely seeing how he's so young he'll be an absolute stud down the line. Pair him and Al Jefferson and the celtics have the best under 21 duo in the league.

As for why he slipped, it's simple. Portland, Toronto, the Clippers, and the Bobcats were the only teams picking between 5-17 who could use green, everyone else wanted help now talent or were drafting by need. Portland decided to go with webster instead, making a last day decision to move him ahead of green. Charlotte wanted to sell tickets, and felt the Felton/May duo would be best for that. The Clippers had a promise to korolev, and well, they're the clippers. Toronto for some unknown reason think they have enough talent to attempt to win now, and brought in guys who could help right away. Boston didn't need green either, but with a top 5 talent at 18, how can he be passed up?

But Toronto management consider themselves in rebuilding mode, which makes the entire situation so unfathomable.

When VC was being traded, they got plenty of offers for some half-way decent players. Toronto turned down an offer from Portland that was basically Toronto's "pick your players." They turned this down in favor of the NJN deal, because the Nets were offering 3 draft picks.

If they wanted to make a move now, picking up SAR and maybe DA while at the same time potentially unloading Jalen would have been a strong move. Instead they took a whole lot of 12th men and 3 draft picks.

The confusion isn't just the draft, it's Toronto's entire strategy including trading VC for nobody's. Well everyone said OK, they refused established guys like SAR in order to draft, let's see what they get...Charlie V.
