Yea, it looks like they were going for a replacement in Swift so I guess you can say that you won't see Swift in a Grizzlies uniform next season. I was hoping for Simien or Blatche since May, Granger, Green and Diogu were all taken, but its a pretty good pick.

I was wondering, between my extatic crying and jumping around, if the Grizz would be interested in a trade with th e Celtics.

I've always been high on Battier, and with Green coming in the Celtics either have too many talented youngsters that crave time, or they have too many already established players who "blocks" the time the youngsters need. All depending on how Ainge sees it. And if it's the second, PP or Davis would go, but by doing that the youngsters are left without a mentor. And I belive that Battier would be the perfect fit for such a role.

PP/Allen/Blount for Battier/Williams/future 2nd?

Whoa... I think Stern would probably veto that before it even left the ground.

i guess it won't work salary wise

I don't think the Celtics (Ainge and Rivers, both nose-to-the-grindstone perimeter players in their youth) would welcome the addition of crazy Jason in Boston... He just doesn't fit with the team's game tempo and playing style. Plus they're betting on Banks, West and Allen for the future.

That aside, it's still a stea for Memphis, and I don't think dumping Blount's contract is worth it losing PP over... If the Celts do want to trade Pierce, they shoudl add enough pieces to lure a very good big man to Boston, like Gasol.

If the Grizz would ever consider parting with Battier/Gasol, then hell yeah. The suggestion was just out of the blue to show what I meant ...kinda. But Ainge/Doc buildning around Allen? I would rather say that Allen/Banks are the two most likley to change teams from the youth movement.

I would take that deal, but I know that the Grizzlies love Battier because of his hustle. I wouldn't really miss him if we could get the big man in Blount, allstar in Pierce and a youngster in Allen.
