Chris Anstey. His career wasn't nearly as successful as Longley's but it was better than Gaze's and Heal's.

^^^ I'm assuming that you are talking about their NBA careers as the other 2 clearly had better basketball careers than Anstey....I had high hopes for Anstey, just another bust unfortunately.... :(

Indeed, I mean their NBA careers. I still remember the 2000 Olympics when Anstey missed that layup all alone in the open court. That was shameful.

Anstey actually started off slow.. had a good few games for the Mavs at the end of his rookie season... and then disappeared....

I guess he wasnt ready for the big time... yes he did do better than Gaze and Heal!

Don't Forget, Bogut comes from melbourne, but his parents are from CROATIA, and CROATIA is where my parents come from and that's in EUROPE so that might be why he might have a EUROPEAN style of game

DONT FORGET HE'S CROATIAN

He does a bit but good on him... it's not every day you're the projected #1 pick in the NBA Draft as a foreigner.

I know.. that is true, but c'mon now, he's someone who hasnt proven anything yet... even though he is good- he still isnt that good!

and magadag... Bogut had a croatian personal trainer and coach.. that explains wehy hes got a european game!

He's also been in the USA for years... if his game was purely European no one would be touching him with the #1 pick.

I do agree with you there Sit....I like it when players (especially rookies) stay humble about their games etc....at least Bogut admits he has lots of areas to work on and it's good he's an international prospect who won't back down like many others....teams get wet over 7 footers (or close) who are aggressive and have a bit of an attitude....you don't want some big man who is not confident or is timid (unless his name is Tim Duncan who was confident, but is also timid)....you want them going hard, banging, doing what it takes and Bogut can do that....

and besides, Majerus is a dickwad....he's trying to lower Bogut's stock by saying he's got an eye disorder....that's crazy....Bogut was one of his own players....imagine how you would feel if your old coach was backstabbing you like that....it's good that he stood up for himself....

I dont understand why your former coach would say that... the whole Croatian community should stab him!

Yes, confidence is good... too much means inflated ego- he dont need that! But yes, as long as he doesnt screw up its all good!

And Jae, his style is european, its how he plays... he can do it the american way but i still suspect he rathers do it euro style!

touche....how times have changed....a few years ago, Bogut would have been behind Andriuskevicius, Splitter and Vazquez on the depth charts for bigmen had the Euro trend still been intact....

He can shoot, dribble, pass... but that doesn't mean he plays like a European. Having fundamentals doesn't make you a Euro style player. He likes throwing down 2 handers when he gets the chance, he can play inside (which most Euro bigs can't) and he's more athletic then people give him credit for. I mean by that reasoning you could say Tim Duncan plays European style aswell. It's just plain stereotyping, I mean a white guy could come into the league with a game that's identical to Michael Jordan and people would be calling him the next Jud Buechler or something. If Andrew Bogut was an American no one would be saying he plays Euro style.

If Andrew Bogut was American... who would he be compared to? Shaq?

I kinda get ur point, but I still think he plays European Style but i do have to admit, hes got more balls than Yao.. who is the one who should be dunking over Shaq!

haha, touche

good old Jud Buechler....I was a fan :D

as for the other issue, yep, if Bogut was black then they would not compare him to Divac or Brad Miller even though his game is exactly the same as if he was white....if he were black then they'd probably [compare him to Chris Webber (as a rookie)....or not....I dunno....
