The Spurs are playing at a level I have not seen them play before against the Suns. They are playing at a very high level right now.

Why Robinson at small foward you ask? Because you don't need to send a defensive stopper (bowen) out on the Pistons but you have to keep them honest on defense. Sending a bunch of 6'4-6'6 guys won't do that you need a big small foward that can beat his man off the dribble. That'll shut Prince up.

I think R.C. is the most underrated GM ever. This guy is like Auerbach. He doesn't build for the regular season he builds for the finals.

ok mike davis haha...i'll believe it when i see a defensive minded coach like popovich sit bowen or bArry in favor for big dog, who doesn't play D & can't even beat prince off the dribble. big dog's game is midrange.

R.C has done a pretty darn good job since he's taken over. or is it his euro scouting team? he's made some good deals including getting rid of derek anderson and malik rose and such. though i think comparing him to auerbach is going too far. auerbach is imo the best GM so far in the history of the nba. i won't list all of his accomplishments but i will say putting together great nba champions in separate eras was amazing

Meh...i'm not so impressed. Picking Duncan was a no-brainer, getting lucky in the lottery doesn't count as strategy.

He failed to keep Stephen Jackson in SA, instead he's now a major part of another championship level team.

He got rid of DA AND Steve Kerr to get....drum roll please..Steve Smith. Who at the time made $1M more than DA.

He got rid of Giricek for a 2nd round pick, Giricek would have been a decent backup shooter.

He got rid of Barbosa for a future pick from Phoenix (one of the few teams that will actually pick later than the Spurs)...Barbosa is quite a talent.

He traded Antonio Daniels for Steve Kerr...at least AD is still playing, and playing very well.

I give him an A for scouting European ballers but he's done a poor job with US players, imho.

Actually the Suns pick higher this year than they finished because of the various trades. They've got Chicago's 21 from the Deng trade.

maes, if i'm not mistaken, most of those moves were made because RC was trying to get rid of those long term contracts. remember a few offseasons ago, they were saving up all that cap

All the Phoenix Suns Fans better hope the Suns can pull off a Boston Red Sox...come back from 3-0 from against a team that looks like they going to win the championship.

Frankly speaking... this is the end of the road for the Sun's quest for the 2005 NBA championship finals... better luck next year (i hope they won't end up like Portland Trailblazers, Utah Jazz, & Sacramento Kings) Against San Antonio Spurs, it's very difficult to overcome a 3-0 deficit...so, i bid them goodbye & hope to see them next year (with a defense, and a dominant big man to support Amare on the paint)

Suns had a great year, they topped the league with 62 wins, they had the MVP, they almost swept the All-Star Saturday events at ASW back in February. The 4-1 series result doesn't really tell the whole story. The Suns were hardly embarrassed in the series and overcome quite a few deficits to challenge San Antonio right down to the end of the game. I think some changes need to be made before this team to remain at the level it reached this season and perhaps go even further.

Meanwhile, congratulations to the Spurs for finding a way to overcome a very difficult opponent in five games. Even though the Spurs were able to exploit the Suns' weaknesses, they weren't able to distance themselves from them for very long but did a commendable job holding them off in the four games they won. They were one of the favourites to win it all before the season began and they're four victories away from living up to those expectations.

I didn't expect the Suns to advance, but congrats to them for a great season, and hopefully they'll build from there. Congrats to the Spurs too, which I'll be expecting to win it all!

i don't think the suns need to make any major changes.

JJ missed the 1st two games. marion and q-rich didn't show up for the series.

in only his 2nd year, amare amazingly averaged 30pts against the league's top defense. walton mentioned not even shaq did this against the spurs last year, though i don't know how credible the source is

that core still has room to improve... and there's still that barbosa guy

The Spurs made Jackson the best offer he got, he wound up taking less money to go to ATLANTA. It's not RC's fault if Jax was stupid.

Because Anderson was looking for a MAX contract. Steve Smith was acquired because he could start at SG and he had an expiring contract, providing cap room in 2003. Portland gave DA that max deal, do you think they regret that now?

I think that trade worked out pretty well when Kerr bailed out the Spurs in the 4th quarter of game 6 of the 2003 WCF. Kerr hit like 5 three pointers off of the bench and the Spurs came back and won. Do you think AD would have hit those shots?
